Before the Thunderdome match between Flair and Sting vs. Muta and Terry Funk could begin, a piece of cloth on the top corner caught fire, which Muta extinguished with his mist. Was it a work or shoot? On one hand, the crew seemed panicked when they rushed up to put it out...but on the other hand, Muta had an assload of mist in his mouth, leading me to believe it was a work. Either Muta was getting ready to cover the entire ring in green spittle or the two crewmembers were really good actors. Which is it? I'm stumped.
On a sidenote, the Thunderdome had the best theme music out of anyone in the organization at the time.
Discuss.

It was a shoot. One of the rigging lights or perhaps cage pyro caught some fabric on fire. Referee Tommy Young climbed up & swatted the flames out with his hands. Muta extinguished any remaining embers shortly afterwards, which got a small pop.

If that's the case, MADD PROPS to Muta for working like that on the fly. A safety-conscious heel? How unheard of!

Does anyone have the video? 1:55-2:35 Thank you very much sir. And it always amazes me to watch older videos and seeing how the atmosphere of wrestling has changed so much.
