Found this on rajah: TNA officials realize they need a new top female babyface in light of Gail Kim's departure from the organization as well as Taylor Wilde's huge title push a few months ago generating a lukewarm response from the audience. While company officials have been on the look out for that one women's wrestler, there was nobody stateside they were particularly interested in to fill out that specific role. As a result, they started looking at international talent, hence the likely arrival of "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock.
The latest on Stock is that there are some paperwork issues holding her up from debuting in TNA, so she is still working full-time in Mexico in the meantime.I agree with the lukewarm response to Wilde. She isn't anything special and is NO Gail Kim. Hopefully Stock isn't a failure in the eyes of tna like Wilde was!

Wilde is nothing special huh? Really? Wow. It wasn't Taylor's fault she didnt' get a "Gail pop" - Gail had been in TNA since around 2005 when she won the title - people had a connection. They didn't with Taylor.
Honestly, this is the SAME exact report that came out a few months after Gail left. All they did was mention Sara Stock this time.. must be a slow news day.

Taylor is a good wrestler... i'm not a fan, but she's definitely deserving of the showcasing she has had.
However, the comment about american based talent is just unfair. I wonder if it's a matter of most women wanting to stay loyal to a promotion like Shimmer. There is more than a handful of really good women's wrestlers.

Cheerlead Melissa would not be over with the crowd like Gail Kim was. Hell, Gail Kim wasn't even THAT over. Reason: As always, NOBODY cares enough for womens wrestling.
Even if Stock comes in, her first few appearances will have her over with the crowd.... but people will soon no longer care after a few weeks/months.

No one cares about womens wrestling huh? I guess that's why SHIMMER is still in business..

Women's wrestling is a niche market. SHIMMER isn't raking in cash. They occupy the small market that wants to see the product they offer.

Taylor Wilde is one of the best women on the roster. If they lost faith in her that kinda sucks because if they gave her more time to connect with the crowd, I think the title back on her would be a good idea. I also like Roxxi too though, she is very underrated in the ring, she is from up here in New England and I have been on some of the same shows with her and she is really good. I have seen her go toe to toe with guys and hold her own.

Saying an all womens wrestling company is "still in business" because they are important is like saying the company full of drunks wrestling at my local flea market is still in business because they are important. They arent important at all. They just have no competition. They work in small buildings across a very limited space. TNA isnt going to find another Gail Kim on the Indy scene for one very simple reason....None of them are former WWE wrestlers. This isnt an argument of "oh TNA takes WWE stars", Kim was built on a national spotlight ever week on the biggest wrestling show. She went from being a small fish in a big pond to tna where she was a HUGE fish in a small pond. The only way TNA can get another knockout with Kim like hype is to get a former active WWE Diva like Lita, Victoria or possibly Molly Holly

Christy could easily be TNA's new "Gail Kim".
