I remember being really young, about 7 or 8, long before I'd heard of the Internet... A magazine called Superstars of Wrestling used to have the real names in and that was always fascinating to me.
By the time I was online (14/15) I didn't much care for real names, except the weird ones. Like Monty Sopp.

Boy oh boy, do I ever. Those were the good ol' days. When real names and birthdays were the big wrestling gossip and not all the stuff you see now. I used to check those sites all the time. The first time I stumbled upon it, I was confused because there were so many wresters with fake names. I could understand Undertaker not being his real name, but I had no idea why someone would pick Shawn Michaels as their ring name, because it sounded like a regular name.

I think the one I remember was called New Wave Wrestling though.

for me the real treat was finding out about all the stuff I missed because I started watching the WWF in the summer of 2000. I specifically remember reading that just months before there was stable called the Radicalz made up of Benoit, Guerrero, Saturn and Malenko and it blew my mind because Saturn and Malenko were champions (albeit of belts I didn't realize were basically worthless) while Eddie was fighting for the IC title and Benoit was main eventing.

lol yes! for some reason that was awsome.
The dumbist thing as a kid i did wrestling wise was find a picture of Kane unmasked and was like, "hay. hes not burnt at all!"
Heres one too, when you was younger did anyone have a friend who was convinced that Mark Calloway (i think!) wasnt the only Undertaker? and that Undertaker had been played by a couple other wrestlers? We did!

It had a piece on Kane and showed Kane unmasked in a small picture and I was like OMFG. I was a huge Kane mark then and could not believe the picture because his face was not burnt. This must have been in 1999 or 2000 You can see the picture I am talking about here: judybell1125.tripod.com/wrestlingcollections/id23.html

Was the magazine a really thin, crappy type of mag? might of been called PowerSlam, it always had real names and "real" backstage news? It was huge to me b4 i got the internet! I dunno if any1 else from England found it but teletext had a wrestling section and i ran up a huge fone bill ringing up wrestling hotlines!
