I'm sure others have noticed this, but this Wrestlemania is not the 25th anniversary.
It is Wrestlemania 25, which would be the 24th anniversary of the event.
I find it quite funny that WWE has made such a drastic error in their advertisement.
Do you think that they did this on purpose, to make the event sound bigger?

They can promote it how they like really. I only thinik they are calling it that because it is the 25th WrestleMania.

Wrong . Maybe because you think Wrestlmania 1 wasn't named Wrestlemania 1 .

Wrong . Maybe because you think Wrestlmania 1 wasn't named Wrestlemania 1 . No cause Wrestlemania 1 can't be its own anniversary of itself so Wrestlemania 2 would be the first anniversary of Wrestlemania and so on and so forth making Mania- 25 the 24th anniversary and the first wrestlemania happened in 1985 so it isnt even right year wise it is the 25th edition however so that is worth advertising.

I just find it funny that they call it the 25th Anniversary when technically only 24 years has past.

The number this year is 25. It'd be a bit confusing of them to call it the 24th anniversary, or to call WM26 the 25th anniversary.

What are you talking about?
Based on a calender yeah it's the 24th yearly event, but it's the 25th time they have held it. WM 1 was the first, it's not like year zero when you're born.

Anniversary: A celebration commemorating such a date that stands of historical or emotional significance. This would be the 25th time it has happened and so they want to include the first time.

So Wrestlemania is the first anniv...making WM25 the 24th anniv....Its a mistake that a lot of people dont catch, nor do I think anyone really cares. Next year will probably be WM 26, the Silver Anniv...since the 25th anniv is technically the "silver anniv"

I understand how they're promoting it, but nobody counts the day of something as the first anniversary of it.

Anniversary: The yearly recurrence of the date of a past event.

yeah i remember T-Phunk pointed that out but it's not too much of an error, as the 25th annual wrestlemania is a BIG deal so they should celebrate it as much as possible

I just don't like how it is never referred to as "Wrestlemania 25", and that doesn't even appear on the logo, its just "the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania".

they're rewriting history! They certainly are, aren't they? I guess they can do whatever they want. Technically, I don't think it's right, but whatever, it's a big deal to Titan, aye.
