TNA decided to tone down the Don West heel turn per orders from the top reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to reports, the company felt they went too far with it in the beginning and had to get it under control. They went forward with toning down the character at the Destination X PPV and the Impact TV tapings that followed by having West play a subtle heel as the weeks progressed. At this point it isn't expected to get as much attention as it did earlier. _________________________ On a side note, I can't believe I posted this before SG.  |

Why can't you believe it? I don't go on news site and go "LOLZ I GOTS TO POST HTIS BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE!".
Also, I'm not talking just about you - just in general. Honestly, the needed to tone him down on iMPACT when he was yelling out Cornette. He was freaking annoying.

Why are you even turning an announcer heel? It worked for Lawler and Heenan because they were kayfabe heels. It doesn't work for a guy who's job it is to just announce.

It was a bit ridiculous and hard to listen to...especially considering Don West sounds like in real life he is actually a very nice guy and even fun to be around. So when you have a nice guy trying to play a heel it just doesn't work..especially for announcers...

I think it's cool that they're trying to do something with West, who is viewed as a joke but a lot of people - but this isn't really helping his case at all. What I don't understand is, why is West the heel; if everything he has said about Tenay just makes me think of HIM as the prick?

I like the heel don west. Everytime I watch Impact I say to myself "How long will West take to go heel so he can leave the announce booth"

I'm surprised by this.... if anything I thought Don West didn't show much heel affiliation outside of his on-camera stuff where he had to be an ass.
Other-wise, Tenay came off like the heel. Always assuming and suggesting one thing or another, as an antagonist who should just focus on the frickin' match.

Him getting pissed off at Jarret coming back into the cage match on iMPACT last week was amazing

I haven't really seen him as a heel, but it usually always works better to have one face announcer and one heel announcer. Which is why I really wish Lawler would go back to being a heel.
