It's sad to say that in today's WWE, tag team wrestling is a dying breed. There's been some sort of resurgence lately, but considering the tag title matches were demoted to a dark match, I doubt we'll see too much importance put on the division anytime soon.
That said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some good tag team wrestling. There's a simple formula for the most part, and I greatly enjoy when tag teams vary with the formula. I've started to watch older tag team matches and have been getting into those, I'd love more recommendations.
What are some of your favorite tag team matches?
Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit vs. Steve Austin and Triple H -What a brilliant match this was, overlooked due to Triple H being injured. Now with the Benoit travesty, I doubt we'll see it on a DVD. Still, those lucky enough to have it on tape (cough, me), it's quite the lost gem.
Edge and Christian vs. the Hardy Boys - Ladder Match -The TLC and Ladder matches with the Dudleys were fun, to be sure, but this was such a solid tag team contest, and the spots have aged very well. This was also the catalyst for the resurgence of tag team wrestling in WWE, and the push of both teams.
The Brainbusters vs. the Hart Foundation - Summerslam '89 -I just watched this a couple weeks ago...so good. The Brainbusters put over the Harts BIG TIME in this match, as the Harts cut off every bit of Arn and Tully's offense opening the match, and Arn and Tully were built as quite the tag team. The Hart Foundation forced them to be underhanded to win the contest but it made both teams look great. Love this match.

just for the basic factor... i'll mention the first tag math i ever saw, the rockers vs brain busters at SNME #20 (i think) and it ended up being a double count out.
The rockers were seperated from the get go and either marty or shawn were kept beaten down and out of the match for pretty much the full thing. If i saw it now, it probs would look quite bland, but it was my first viewing of a tag.

Definatly the RVD/Sabu vs. Eliminators stuff in ECW. Also, nothing can touch The Hart Foundation vs. The British Bulldogs. And some of my favorite tag matches were most of Steve Williams and Terry Gordy in All Japan as the Miracle Violence Connection. I could go on all day with tag teams/matches.

My absolute favorite Tag Team match ever is the first Tag Teams Survivor Series Match.
Besides that: Hartfoundation vs. Demolition (Summerslam 1990) British Bulldogs vs. Dream Team (SNME 2-out of-3 falls) Hartfoundation vs. Rockes (SNME, when Rockers became Tag Champions) Tully & Arn vs. Road Warriors (Starrcade 1983)
Also used to like Windham/Rhodes in WCW especially against Dr. Death and Bamm Bamm Gordy, but can't remember when it was.

Yeah I cannot remember the last time WWE had a really good, solid tag team match. Tag team wrestling is definitely a dying art. Some of my favorite tag matches are:
- SummerSlam '89 - Hart Foundation vs. Brain Busters - SummerSlam '90 - Hart Foundation vs. Demolition - WWF Superstars - Steiner Brothers vs. Bret & Owen Hart - Hellraisers vs. Jurassic Powers - (Cannot remember the date)

And you just had to know the titles would be unified at WM; with the 'WWE' coming out on top; eh? As could I. From The Freebirds VS The Von Erichs, to the LOD VS The Midnight Express to The Brainbusters VS The Rockers to The Funks in Japan, and of course The Eliminators, RVD/Sabu, Candido/Storm and The Dudleyz, tag team wrestling is simply awesome.

So, after posting this, it looks like every tag team is being split up in the WWE. I fear they're going to retire the tag team championships. :-(

I always thought LOD and Money Inc. had great matches - both tag teams had a great chemistry.

Just to show you how bad Tag Team wrestling is.......
A tag match from 1992 that involves The Bushwackers vs Beverly Brothers is more entertaining then any WWE tag match ive seen in the past year, with the exception of anything Priceless has done (I cant give a biased opinion since I love Priceless)

My Favorite tag match I've ever seen was either
Shelley/Sabin vs Liger/Ultimo Dragon at UWA in May of 07 or Brian Danielson/Tyler Black vs The American Wolves at ROH last Saturday.
