Why did 2k leave the football scene?I for one love All-Pro 2k8 and was very excited to see what was next. It looks like no good news on the horizon. I can't be the only one who enjoys this game more than Madden.

The gameplay was leaps and bounds ahead of Madden, but the season mode was so bare bones the game had no longevity at all.

The gameplay was leaps and bounds ahead of Madden, Seriously? That game had some of the most unintuitive controls I've ever used.

I think it was because EA scooped up the NFL license exclusively.

The tackling animations, the quarterback mechanics, almost everything is superior to Madden. The controls don't take long to get used to really. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a "Franchise" mode. I just want another game damn it.

The game was just frustrating. They made the game more realistic than Madden at the cost of being fun. Not to mention the fact that the game looked like garbage and had the exact same audio commentary as 2K5 with just the Legends names replaced, on a $60 game. What 2K8 made me realize is that 90% of the reason why NFL 2K5 was so popular was because it was $20.

2K5 was better than Madden at the time. But the problem is, I can't get into playing a franchise with fake teams and old legends. Just doesn't do it for me.
I hate that Madden has exclusive deals, but until that is over, there won't be another serious contender. Only over the top games like Blitz or Tecmo Bowl could succeed.

Pfft. I only need 1 football game and 1 football game only. I didn't know Jack Black was a member here. haha. NFL 2K5 is still the best football game out, not because it's 20 bucks, but because the controls, animations and everything else were easy to get used to, unlike Madden, where new features up the game every year.

It really seems like you just went out and tried to hate All pro, I'm sorry but how did making it more real make it less fun? The game really didn't look that bad, I would consider it on par, maybe been than Madden 08. The commentary yeah it was lazy, but it was still better than what Madden offered in 08, I believe that was the year with the random radio announcer. And to say 2K5 was good because it was 20$ is just ridiculous, 2K5 is still a better game that madden in pretty much every aspect outside of graphics.

First off, you can believe whatever you wanted to, but I actually came in there expecting it to be as good as 2K5 was in 2005, and it wasn't. The pound A to sprint was stupid. The way the WR routes would stop, therefore letting them be impossible to throw to was actually not more realistic and was one of the main reason why I had issues. I would much rather take crappy radio announcers over cut-and-pasting from a 3 year old game. I am not happy that they're not making football games since competition is always good, but I'm certainly not wishing that there was an All-Pro 2K10 coming out.

So the two things that made it suck were that you had to tap A to sprint, and the receivers would stop running at the end of their route? That doesn't seem all too bad, plus with the route running, you really shouldn't be waiting that long to pass the ball, but I'll chalk that one up to getting used of maddens gameplay.

I thought both games were enjoyable in their own ways. Yes 2k had more realistic approach to the game than madden but sometimes people like madden because of the arcadish feel. It just depends on the person. It's like Gears and Halo. Two whole different games but you choose which game just suits the way you play better. I love that 2k had amazing presentation, and gameplay but I love madden's graphics, and its features. If somehow they both combined to make the most perfect football game ever... a guy can dream.

You're seriously chalking up shitty game design to being used to Madden's gameplay? Fine. I didn't enjoy All-Pro 2K8. I don't need to justify it to you. I hope for your sake that they make more of the games, but I hope for the sake of the majority of gamers that they make significant improvements for the next one or they don't ask for full price.

NFL 2K5 in my opinion was the best football game ever made, hands down.
I think Madden for the 360/PS3 is awful. I still prefer the PS2 version, and it's a main reason why I haven't bothered upgrading to a new system.
