Official press release - From LambGoat - lambgoat.com/news/29542/Melvins-announce-new-album-North-American-tourThe Melvins return with the new album Pinkus Abortion Technician (April 20, Ipecac Recordings), featuring both ongoing Melvins' bass player Steven McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Butthole Surfers', and occasional Melvins', bottom ender Jeff Pinkus on bass. "With our upcoming release, we double your bass player with Steven McDonald AND Jeff Pinkus holding down the bottom," explains Dale Crover. It's an experiment in the low end of the aural spectrum where we asked ourselves, 'would it work?' 'could it work??' 'should it work???' The answers were yes, yes and YES!" "We've never had two bass players. We've had two drummers and two guitar players so it makes total sense to now have two bass players, adds Buzz Osborne. "We'll be taking this two-prong bass attack on the road as well which should prove to be interesting. Pinkus Abortion Technician is a radically great record and was a stone groove to record. We drank a lot of coffee and enjoyed each other's company. I like Steven and Jeff a great deal. I admire their bass playing and singing and both of them can grill a mean steak." Pinkus Abortion Technician track list: 1. Stop Moving To Florida 2. Embrace The Rub 3. Don't Forget To Breathe 4. Flamboyant Duck 5. Break Bread 6. I Want To Hold Your Hand 7. Prenup Butter 8. Graveyard "Stop Moving To Florida" is a medley of the James Gang's "Stop" and Butthole Surfers' "Moving To Florida," the band also covers the Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and Butthole Surfers' "Graveyard" on the eight-song release. Pre-orders will be announced soon. The Melvins have also simultaneously announced a 10-week North American tour, kicking off on April 26 at the Casbah in San Diego. The tour will feature the Melvins as a four-piece with both Pinkus and McDonald joining Osborne and Crover.

And I thought this was also funny, from LambGoat - lambgoat.com/news/29544/Metallicas-James-Hetfield-lands-role-in-Zac-Efron-movieMetallica frontman James Hetfield tops off the coveted ensemble cast of the upcoming thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. The film follows the relationship between notorious serial killer Ted Bundy, played by Zac Efron, and his longtime girlfriend, played by Lily Collins, who at the time, had no knowledge of the crimes. The Grammy and multi-Platinum and Gold Award winning artist will be playing Officer Bob Hayward, a no-nonsense Utah highway patrol veteran who was the first law enforcement officer to arrest Bundy in 1975 after pulling the killer over and discovering burglary tools in his car but wisely suspecting much worse. While Hetfield has played himself in other films and television productions, this will be his first dramatic role taking on a different character. Academy-award nominee Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost) will direct. Hetfield and Berlinger have crossed paths before when the latter directed and produced the seminal rock-doc Metallica: Some Kind of Monster along with the late Bruce Sinofsky. Berlinger also penned a book about his experiences with the band, Metallica: This Monster Lives. "Having spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes with James and the rest of Metallica, I have experienced his charisma and powerful presence close up," says director Joe Berlinger. "It seemed only natural that he would bring that same power and magnetism to a dramatic role, so when he agreed to my pitch that he be in the movie, I was thrilled." The original screenplay, written by Michael Werwie, won the Nicholl Fellowship first prize and was featured on the Black List. Golden Globe and multiple Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons and Academy Award nominees Haley Joel Osment and John Malkovich have also recently joined the cast along with Kaya Scodelario, Angela Sarafyan, Jeffrey Donovan Terry Kinney, and Dylan Baker. The project was announced by Voltage Pictures at Cannes 2017. Production is already underway.

They should of found a bitchy roll for Lars I just listened through the Kill 'Em All & Ride the Lightning box sets and they include interview discs primarily all with Lars. It's amazing how pre-Napster Lars was, they were such great interviews. Even the part where he said he didn't mind bootlegs gave me a good laugh.

Everything about him in some kind of monster was fantastic. Especially getting all bent of out shape that they got Kirk a bday cake

I dig the Melvins a lot, and their spin on covers is usually great. (SLTS with Leif Garrett aside...)

Ready to see Machine Head again. Won tickets from a local station via FB debate for the show that was in Philly on 2.8 and man was it an awesome show! Over 2 hours of pure Machine Head. No openers, no limited set. 23 songs - 25 counting the guitar and drum solo. They touched on every record. 5 from the new album, Catharsis, and 4 from my favourite, The Blackening.

Got tickets to see Metallica on February 1st NEXT year. Got them just off the floor, so I'll have a place to sit. They are playing a whole set with only Jim Bruer opening (that's so weird) and I hear they are going to play close to 3 hours. Hopefully that means they play a lot of stuff off of Master, Justice, Kill Em All, and Ride The Lightning. So, that's 4 shows lined up through the span of a year, obviously supplemented by at least a few smaller shows. So far I'm going to Both June 7th and 9th of the Slayer Farewell Tour. That will make it 25 times I've seen Slayer live. Ozzy in September, and Metallica. Also more than a little pissed that Kreator cancelled on us Wednesday. I was so looking forward to that show.

I'm just about finished with my seasonal binge of band tees of 2018. Found a treasure trove of 3xl's. Also got my hands on a "Kill The Kardashians" shirt like Gary Holt used to wear with Exodus hehe. I'm closing in on 37 and I still wear a lot of band and comic tees. What's wrong with me lol. I guess it's okay because 5 days a week I'm in a shirt and tie for at least 8 hours in front of a computer. Edit: still not quite done yet. Gotta see what the shows I'm hitting this summer have to offer.
