Hey guys,
It's been a few months since I've posted any receivings threads as, honestly, I haven't bought many figures in a good while. I'm still waiting to buy BNB Series 6 in stores and have contemplated buying CSDA6 from RSC to update my collection, but I've given up on collecting CS or any of the regular RA and DA lines.
However, I still try and look for good deals on eBay from time to time for older Jakks figures, and here are a few purchases I made over the last few months.
First off, I bought this Attitude 4-pack featuring Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin and LOD 2000 from 1998 on eBay for around $8-9 shipped a long while back but I finally received it in the mail a few weeks ago. I have way too many of this particular Slammers HBK as it is, the same Stone Cold from a different box set, and LOD 2000 from their 2 Tuff Series 3 2-pack with helmets, but this set is still worth owning, in my opinion. Also, I'm pretty sure my box set total for BCAs is up to 19 at the moment.
Next, I bought these three MOC BCAs, which I later opened, for $10 shipped from fellow WF member duaner to add to my loose collection. Edge is from the Signature Series line and is just another repaint, a similar Austin can be bought in the second Raw Is War 4-pack but this one features a detailed camo hat, and Jarrett is a repaint from the final Special Edition singles series set (red outline on his trunks as opposed to 2 Tuff Series 5's white outline).
Last but not least, I won an auction for seven MOC/MIB Jakks BCA exclusives from 1998 and 1999 on eBay last week that only cost me about $20 shipped, so I was happy to add a few of these to my collection. Included in the lot was the two ToyFare 1999 bagged exclusives of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker; 'Taker was later re-released in the 2 Tuff Series 5 set with Viscera, which ripped many collectors off at the time who had spent $14-15 on it as an exclusive mailaway.
I already owned MIB versions of the figures, so I decided to open these two. You definitely won't see any phrases like that on the back of Austin's t-shirt with any current Jakks figures, that's for sure.
A KB Toys Exclusive of The Rock from SummerSlam 1999 was also included, as was the WMXV Steve Austin mailaway (I believe) exclusive, but neither are particularly hard to find nowadays since so many of them were produced.
The two ToyFare The Rock and Big Show 1 of 10,000 boxed exclusives came from the same lot; The Rock's t-shirt is cloth and removable, and the Big Show is simply in street gear as all his BCA figures were at the time. Finally, I was able to obtain the White's Guide 1999 1 of 5,000 Undertaker exclusive, and I hope to get the 1 of 5,000 Sable one day, too, but I'm in no hurry.
I remember fellow WF member Walter saying once before that it was his favorite Undertaker figure from the BCA era, and I find it hard to disagree with him; there is so much detail put into this figure and I love the metallic blue paint for his ring gear. I've never made it a priority to own every BCA figure or exclusive, but I wouldn't mind owning all of the exclusives since there weren't too many that are hard to find now for a cheap price.
Well, that's it for now, but thanks for looking and I hope the pictures didn't take too long to load.
