Flacco was good, to be fair. Fantastic veteran team around him, and he was a good game manager, he wasnt a superstar like Sanchez needs to be to lead the Jets to the playoffs.

Yea, but Flacco has a rocket arm. I haven't seen much of Sanchez, but he needs more help around him to be able to think about competing with the Pats this year.

Sanchez only has 16 starts of experience under his belt, where as Flacco and Ryan were both senior QB's if I am not mistaken.
Huge difference, huge learning curve a coming

Flacco didn't really do anything special last year. In fact, in his first five games, he had thrown just 1 touchdown to 7 interceptions... He certainly got better as the year went on, but it was ultimately his poor quarterback play that ended their season against the Steelers.

EDIT: And I like Flacco. I think he has a nice, long, successful career ahead of him. Plus, from the interviews I've seen...he seems like he is a hell of a nice guy too.

My boss' wife is related to Joe Flacco. Some obscure cousin kind of way.

This is just bad luck:
New England Patriots rookie linebacker Tyrone McKenzie is out for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, which he injured during minicamp, The Boston Globe reported, citing a source close to McKenzie. Kraft on the Patriots
NFL.com Video
Robert Kraft talks about the Patriots 2009 season. McKenzie, a third-round draft pick, was injured during a one-on-one coverage drill during the first of two sessions on Saturday, according to the report. He walked off the field and watched the rest of practice from the sideline, but was not in attendance for the second session.
McKenzie, who was drafted from South Florida, had misfortune during his college career as well, when a car accident involving his mother forced him to leave USF and get a job at a hotel to take care of his family, the newspaper reported.

Hmmm...no. The Patriots are a Super Bowl contender, year in and year out. The Jets just went 9-7 and have one fo the best OL with a fierce defense. The Dolphins just came off a 10+ win season and won the division. The Bills.......well, the NFC North has the Lions....so they cancel one another out. Just look at last year's records and the level of competition. Each NFC North team got 2 freebie wins with the Lions. The AFC East has to play AFC competition. I'll agree that there is a chance for 2 teams to make the playoffs. No way in hell are you getting 3. You're forgetting the NFC East still has the Eagles, early front runners to the Super Bowl and the Giants who have Osi returning and a Cowboys team that kicks ass during the regular season. I got a $100 says there isnt 3 teams from the NFC North making the playoffs. Well considering I said NFC East, I did in fact mean that the Giants and Eagles WILL make the playoffs, and the Cowboys have a very good shot at making it too. Sorry bro. Misread it. Thought u were talking about the NFC North.

It's a little off-topic at the moment, but Favre is getting really annoying. He really didn't do that well at all last year. But, I would still take him over Jackson & Ferrote.

No, you don't leave a team in limbo, then bitch and moan when your not traded within your division, Farve is now turning into a mockery which needs to stop NOW. I mean hell, at least he should have said, "I will retire unless I am released so I can go to Minnesota."

And they finally made the decision to go with Rodgers. Then Favre decided months later he wanted to come back. They can't adjust their plans yearly because Favre has the decision-making of a 7-year old.

There was all this discussion about Flacco and I missed it? I need to check this thread more often.
Anyway, about Favre, I just think he's doing this to try and make Green Bay regret not taking him back. He didn't show anything spectacular last year, and if he plays this year, it will be more of the same. In my opinion, it'll just mean that the Vikings will be missing the playoffs. Sure, he would have Peterson and Taylor behind him, but I think it still wouldn't be enough.

Favre retires then waltz back and just expects everyone to bend over backwards for him. The Titans treated McNair much worse.

With Favre no longer on the Packers I find all of this to be hilarious. Just some of the quotes I've been reading from Packer fans are classic. Nick Barnett (who Twitters, how lame) said.. Personally, I think those whole debacle is a riot. I don't care what happens either way, but I hope Favre realizes that he will never be welcomed back with open arms in Green Bay if he does that. Which is sad really. Can you guys imagine the ratings for Minnesota vs Green Bay on MNF in week 4?

Packers have moved on, they found a QB, and they look to have a good season, Favre needs to think about moving on.
