The current rumors are that Marvin Harrison is going to retire... And I don't really blame him. I hope this is true, I love Marvin and I couldn't ever see him with anyone else.

The current rumors are that Marvin Harrison is going to retire... And I don't really blame him. I hope this is true, I love Marvin and I couldn't ever see him with anyone else. But Marvin can still play. No one is saying he is a #1. No one is saying he can run routes like he used to. No one is saying the guy can even stay healthy for a season. But he is smart, has good hands and is more than serviceable to the right team.

He was barely serviceable with Peyton Manning at QB.

Marvin Harrison sucks right now, he isnt going to make Mark Sanchez into Joe Montana.
Wow, you love to debate every single point in this thread and turn into to Jets-orgasm fest.
Marvin Harrison is only good at one thing right now...shooting people.

It doesnt mean that if he is playing for a team that needs help at WR.....he cannot contribute. That's completely ass-backwards thinking. You think he didn't get looks because he was on a team with other receiving options? Wes Welker is the slot receiver on the Patriots and he has something like 225 catches in the past two years. The reason Marvin Harrison wasn't producing anymore is because he doesn't have the physical ability to do it anymore. You can clamor for Harrison to come to another team all you want, but he's not going to step in and be the No. 1 WR on an NFL team right now. He'd be able to teach other receivers how to run routes and read defenses, but that'd be his best contribution to a team right now.

Marvin Harrison is only good at one thing right now...shooting people. Harrison sucks? Yeah ok. I never said he was going to make Mark Sanchez into Joe Montana. Once again, your poor attempt at trying to make others look like idiots. You of all people cannot talk about debating. You debate everything! Cept I do it without insulting people. You do it b/c you feel you are "all knowing". As far as wanting to talk about my team.....whats wrong with that? You do it with the Pats. TRW does it with the Falcons. Tells me Manning had a lot of good weapons to use and Marvin was on the decline/injured. It doesnt mean that if he is playing for a team that needs help at WR.....he cannot contribute. He'd be able to teach other receivers how to run routes and read defenses, but that'd be his best contribution to a team right now. I specifically stated that Harrison was not a number 1 and could no longer produce at that rate. I even said I cant see him as a number 2, except for a team that desperately needs a WR. And I'm sorry, I think Harrison does have the ability to play at an NFL level. It might not be Marvin Harrison's level or a level good enough to pass Gonzalez or Clark on the depth charts......but it certainly is good enough to get on an NFL team.

Clark is a tight end, so yeah, I doubt he'd be able to pass him on the depth chart.

This would not be the first time NFL scouts were just plain wrong.

The thing that's most telling to me is that the Colts released him, despite him being a huge icon in the city and a major fan favorite.

I know they wanted him back for cheap -- and I can't say he wouldn't be worth that... But I think Harrison and his representation might be thinking a little bit too highly of themselves at this point.,

Brett Favre Watch:
Favre is working out with a Mississippi College team by throwing passes to them. Vikings continue to have interest. No offer has been made.
