Who is the prototype?

I refer to Aaron Smith as 'The Prototypical 3-4 DE' because he's pretty much exactly what teams want at that position. He should definitely be on the list.
It's really hard to compare 3-4 DE's and 4-3 DE's, just like 3-4 OLB's and 4-3 OLB's... If you were comparing things, 4-3 DE's and 3-4 OLB's are most alike.

If Eli had to be top-10, then i'd put him at 10. I would definately putt McNabb before him though, yea he's on the Eagles but he is so underrated by alot of people.

Here is another set of bold predictions. This is going on what I've seen this past offseason, and is barring any injury to any player.
z= Clinched conference y=clinched division w=wild card
AFC East (z) New England Patriots 13-3 New York Jets 10-6 Buffalo Bills 8-8 Miami Dolphins 7-9
AFC North (y)Pittsburgh Steelers 12-4 (w)Baltimore Ravens 11-5 Cleveland Browns 6-10 Cincinati Bengals 4-12
AFC South (y) Tennessee Titans 12-4 (w) Indianapolis Colts 11-5 Houston Texans 9-7 Jacksonville Jaguars 7-9
AFC West (y) San Diego Chargers 11-5 Denver Broncos 7-9 Kansas City Chiefs 4-12 Oakland Raiders 2-14
NFC East (z)New York Giants 13-3 (w)Dallas Cowboys 10-6 (w)Philadelphia Eagles 10-6 Washington Redskins 8-8
NFC North (y)Minnesota Vikings 10-6 Chicago Bears 9-7 Green Bay Packers 8-8 Detroit Lions 3-13
NFC South (y)Atlanta Falcons 11-5 New Orleans Saints 9-7 Carolina Panthers 8-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-10
NFC West (y)Arizona Cardinals 10-6 San Fransisco 49ers 8-8 Seattle Seahawks 5-11 St. Louis Rams 3-13
So the playoffs would look something like this:
AFC 1. Patriots 2. Steelers 3. Titans 4. Chargers 5. Colts 6. Ravens
NFC 1. Giants 2. Falcons 3. Cardinals 4. Vikings 5. Cowboys 6. Eagles

So the only division that's going to change winners is the AFC East and NFC South?

For the most part, yea.
I don't see much improvement in the West Divisions. Cards/Chargers have them locked up.
NFC East can have anyone of those 3 win, but all 3 will make it to the playoffs.
It may be a crapshoot in the NFC North between the Vikings/Bears, but the only improvement the Bears have made is Cutler and Orlando Pace.
The Steelers retained 20/22 starters, and the Ravens lost 2 of their defensive starters.

Jay Cutler can't really take that team to the top, iyam. Green Bay just can't get anything done without Favre, it seems like. And of course, Detroit sucks.

Aaron Rodgers is a really good Quarterback. Hell, their offense was really good last year, so to say they can't get things done without Favre is stupid.
Their defense, however, is a different story.

Alright, maybe I shouldn't have said that they can't get anything done without Favre, but....they are no where near as good. I think Rodgers is an okay QB, but not that great. I don't see him taking this team anywhere big. Ryan Grant had like one good year, but last year wasn't nearly as good....
And yeah, their defense is just...not very good....

Rodgers had a great season.
He threw 28 TDs, 13 picks for 4,000 yards.
They were like 5th in the league for scoring. It's just their defense that needs work.

If the Rams go 3-13 I may commit suicide.

You can add me to your suicide note list.
I love Spags, but I don't think even he's enough to turn this team around.

I hope the Rams win atleast 5 games.
Ron Bartell is a top 3 CB. Enough said.

It's a shame they have such a great runningback in Steven Jackson. I'd like to see what he could do on a team with an offensive line.
I think I'm going to get my first wet dream picturing him behind the Giants offensive line.

Honestly, I see the Eagles probably winning the NFC East. I just don't know what the Giants offense is going to do this year and I definitely don't see them winning 13 games without a wide receiver that can stretch the field. I do agree that those three teams will make the playoffs.
