Christ I wish the season would start. My Falcons tickets should be arriving in the mail soon though.
I think I am going to go with the Gonzo jersey this season.

Raiders signed Greg Ellis.
Son of a bitch. I think would have fit well with the Saints. Oh well.

Don't be that upset. Greg Ellis isn't that great. I know, but Saints need any help they can get on defense.

Kyle Orton was already named the starter Maybe you don't understand that remain means to stay/keep something. So I obviously knew that he had been named the starter already.

I'd find it funny if Marshall gets traded to the Bears.

And Vick spends a year and a half for killing dogs. Justice system at work. Intent has a lot to do with it.

Yes, it wasn't intentional. Vick committed his crimes knowingly, and with intent, on multiple occassions. But the main reason Vick served as much time as he did, was because he lied to the feds. Not smart.

He's got 1000 hours of Community Service and 10 Years of Probation, and he'll probably get suspended 5-10 games. 30 days is pretty light though.

Dont like Vick at all and definitely dont condone his actions and found his punishment NOT strong enough. But Stallworth's is a ing joke. Hell, he doesnt even have to serve the full 30 days cuz of some BS Florida state law. 24 is how long he will be behind bars. Stallworth was facing a max of 15 years. I understand that the dude did not have intent to kill another man. So, maybe a sentence of like 7 or 8 years would have been sufficient. Unreal. I think Brandon Marshall is gonna have plenty of suitors. Teams like the Jets, Bucs and Bears have shown interest in Plax.....and Marshall might be a safer play right now. I could also see the Giants trying to make a play for him to replace Plax.

Sports Talk is filled wit Stallworth vs. Vick discussion. I wanted to amend one thing I have said about this. Its not to defend Stallworth or try and say his punishment is suitable, but more for food for thought.
When Stallworth killed the man, he didnt try and deny it or flee the scene or run. He turned himself in and was the person who called the cops. He fessed up on drinking and even encouraged the police to take a breathalyzer. And before involving his attorney, he admiitted to what he did and cooperated fully. On top of that, he paid a settlement to the grieving family and THEY asked the judge for liency for Stallworth and asked that this be over as quick as possible.
Vick on the other hand, LIED. Even after being busted, he continued to lie. He wasted the court's time and tax payer's dollars. I think Stalworth has shown more remorse and that Vick is only sorry for being caught. Also, federal prosecutors stated that Vick did not cooperate with them even after he admitted his guilt and refused to help them in their investigation. Furthermore, he stated to said prosecutors he would help in anyway and to this stay, prosecutors feel Vick is still holding out. Just food for thought.

I concur for the most part.
Part of the reason of the difference in sentence is it being a state case vs. a federal case.
Not to mention, that the family of the victim wanted to do the deal.
You also have one monumentally stupid mistake Stallworth made, as opposed to the YEARS of illegal activity and deceit by Vick.

The problem I have with the Stallworth case, mostly, is that the family of the victim got ANY money at all... He was breaking the law by jaywalking, and at night no-less. I think it's preposterous that Stallworth should have to give them ANYTHING.
Stallworth SHOULD have to face the state penalty for drunk driving and even for manslaughter, but it shouldn't have anything to do with the victim's family.
