The lack of a 2nd OLB confuses me.

Yea. I wonder who'd they drop out of Lewis/Urlacher, and who'd they add in.

I see TO nabbing somewhere between 8-10 TDs. I think Edwards has the ability to be a good quarterback, as long as TO doesn't start demanding touches, etc.
Edwards has a good squad to throw to. It's just a matter of their offense in general clicking.

But he's not even on your team and while it's kinda weird that you're constantly riding on Mark Sanchez's jock, I could understand why you are but with TO, it doesn't even make sense. Is he like your guilty pleasure or something?

He's a Jets fan, and the Bills are in the same division. I give Romo, McNabb, and the Redskins in general shit.

Is he like your guilty pleasure or something? I cant stand TO. But saying he is gonna catch less than 10 TDs has nothing to do with him personally. It has to do with the quality of the team he is joining and the fact that he will have to play a lot more cold weather, possibly snowy games.

What's everyones view on the Texans?
They're one of the only teams in the AFC I like, because of how explosive their offense is.
I think they have the ability to make it into the playoffs, but their division is just so rough.

Good team and judging from other forums I'm one of the few Titans fans who won't immediately discount them. Andre Johnson is all beast.

I had Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels on my fantasy team last year so I can't hate the Texans. I like them better than that other team from Texas.

Colts are confused, Which Jags team shows up? 2007or 2008? I'm guessing 2008 and a mid-season head coach replacement. Titans, can Collins follow up? Even if he doesn't, what's going on with Young? The Texans need to hope Schaub comes up big this year, because Orlovsky and Grossman aren't exactly the top two back-ups. More of an AFC South Preview. The Texans will do very well IMO.

Texans are beginning to become a team much like the Cards were for a few years.....a sleeper team. They seem to improve every year. Their defense needs more time together and they could become a top 10 in the NFL. Slaton is fantastic at RB. And obviously Daniels and Johnson, who is so under appreciated as a WR are two of the best offensive weapons they have. Problem is they have to contend with a tough division and worse yet, the tougher conference.

I was a big fan of Slaton's in college, but I feel like a full workload, year-in and year-out is going to be detrimental to his success in the NFL... In my opinion, he should be running the ball about 200 times a year, catching it about 50, and the Texans should get another 'tough, between-the-tackles' runner to compliment him. But overall, I agree that the Texans are definitely a team to watch. Mario Williams might be the best defensive player in the league. He's pretty much a top-5 lock, though.

Who are going to be some breakout players this year?
I think Ahmad Bradshaw is going to have a big year behind The Thunderbeast. I say somewhere between 700-800 Yards, 5-6 TDs, and 5.2 YPC. Then receiving, maybe 25 receptions (screens, crossing routes matched with a LB, etc.) and 200ish rec. yards. 1-2 TDs.
I also think Felix Jones is going to have a good year behind Barber. Dallas is going to have a potent running game this year.

Favre signs with the Vikings
Barring some unforeseen major physical setback, Brett Favre will be at training camp in Mankato when they open up the end of July, a source has told WCCO's Mark Rosen.
That source said that Favre and the Vikings have indeed come to a contractual agreement, with heavy incentives. The Vikings equipment manager has already ordered number 4 purple jerseys with his name on it.
However, on Sunday, Favre's longtime agent, Bus Cooke denied a report that was out there that Favre and the Vikings had come to an agreement.
What isn't known is when this will be officially announced. Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress is in Alaska fishing this week with his good friend, Eagles head coach, Andy Reid.
ProFootballTalk.com speculated the announcement will come Fourth of July weekend, when a lot of media folks are on vacation to minimize the circus atmosphere.
John David Booty is currently wearing number 4, but not for long. Rosen said he believes the Vikings will keep Booty. The logical man to try and move would be Tavaris Jackson with Sage Rosenfels backing Favre up and ready to take over if Favre can't get the job done.

Is this a one year deal, or does nobody know the specifics of the contract?

I'll believe it when it's officially announced.
That being said, I don't doubt it.

As for breakout players...
Matt Schaub - Should be productive this year, if he can stay healthy.
Darren McFadden - The Raiders are still terrible, but McFadden is far too talented to not win the starting job in Oakland.
Kevin Smith - I predicted last year that Smith would be productive as a rookie - and he was, once they finally stopped ****-footing around and decided to put him in the starting lineup. I expect the Lions to at least be moderately more competitive in most games, which should mean more opportunities for Smith.
Miles Austin - I don't want to sound like a homer, and I'm not going to put him on some monster season, but Miles Austin is talented enough to be a productive NFL receiver. I predict that he'll eventually become the No. 2 WR in Dallas, next to Roy Williams, and he'll probably have between 500-600 yards and 6-7 touchdowns.
Domenik Hixon - With Burress gone, the Giants need someone to step up... And Hixon/Manning already started to connect last year. In the games he 'started', Hixon averaged about 70 yards per game. If he could do that for the Giants in '09, he's going to be a breakout player, for sure.

Is this a one year deal, or does nobody know the specifics of the contract? My guess is that it's a one-year deal with about $4 million in guaranteed money, with the potential to get around $10 million if he hits his bonuses. But no, no official details have come out yet. I'll believe it when it's officially announced. That being said, I don't doubt it. The guy who reported it is a very quiet, reputable local sports reporter. I'll trust him.

If it's one year, good.
I want a Giant DB to be the last one to catch a Favre pass before he retires, like in the 07-08 playoffs.
Corey Webster had that honor, until Favre's raggedy ass decided to return.
