There is some talk that WWE may have some intrest in Kip James (aka Billy Gun) when his TNA deal expires this year. TNA currently has no plans to re-sign him.

I don't get the hate for Billy Gunn. I always thought he was rather decent in the ring. I'd rather see him than the Mr. Ass wannabe Dolph Zigler.

I don't get the hate for Billy Gunn. Maybe it's the fact that over and over and over WWE tried to make something out of him besides a tag team wrester who says "we got two words for ya" and put him over the entire roster to try and make it happen, and you could hear a pindrop during his entrance and matches. As Mick Foley put it in Foley is Good "There are no bad intentions in wrestling (except for the ocassional Billy Gunn solo push)". oh and Gunn is the classic example of a guy who just blows up in the ring after a few minutes. He's sucking wind when forced to go at a decent speed. I can't think of one singles match he ever had that I would call legitamitely above average.

Eddie Gurerrero vs Billy Gunn, during an episode of Smackdown in 2003(give or take) You did say one above average match, there you go.

I remember that matchup but not the match itself specifically. a quick search shows that the reviewer who's opinion i share 99% of the time scott keith gave it *1/2 (hardly above average) and said gunn was way out of his league. that sounds about right.

Mark my words... Shawn Michaels and Triple H will return around the same time ( we'll say SummerSlam ). With Billy Gunn and Roadogg by their side. We will see a DX reformation.
- Triple S

Plus isn't Road Dog still in TNA & happily so as good friends with Jeff. The last thing WWE needs right now is another previous gimmick returning, they need to building the stars of the future

I was 12 when the match happened, it was good. Hehe, I agree though looking at it. Gunns has always been a "tag team guy" and should remain so.

As expected, you took the words right out of my mouth. If anyone could put it better...it would have to be Edge. Billy Gunn is a waste of money. He's just going to Billy Gunn his push again, anyway.

Dear WWE,
For future reference, when TNA has no desire to re-sign someone, that does not mean it is a good idea to hire them yourselves.
Love, Barrett
Not that I believe much of anything I hear from these "news" sites, but that should be a rule as it is.

If Hardcore Holly and JBL can get 50 chances to get over I wouldn't mind seeing Billy get one more. I have enjoyed every tag team he was in. New Age Outlaws, The Smoking Gunns...didn't really care much for Chuck and Billy but they were decent and it made Palumbo actually look like he had a personality. The WWE is in desperate need of some good tag teams anyways since they really only have Primo and Carlito now that they broke up Miz and Morrison.
