As a kid i seriously thought he was a super hero, he just seemed bigger than life and as a kid that fascinated me. I used to obsessively watch my colisuem home video '' wrestling super heroes'' and ''greatest champions'' just to see him and mr perfect battle over the ic title. i know now looking back that fued seems obscure but at the time it was a blockbuster to me. i used to hear a song called ''texas tornado'' on the country stations and think of him after he passed.
anyone else have any memories of kerry?

yeah one of my all time favorites my first ever WWE show was the UK Rampage in Glasgow in 1991 and my most vivid memory of that show is of Kerry Von Eric when he got thrown into the steel steps. Such a great talent I gues you could say wasted talent and such a tragic sad story.
A true great I got into wrestling at the tail end of 89 so I saw him from when he first enter the WWE and got behind him straight away to be honest the reason for this was because he kind of looked like the Ultimate Warrior lol. It was so great when he won the title from Mr Perfect at Summerslam.

The best memories of Kerry are from his World Class days. Kerry/Flair was awesome.

My dad got mad at me because I liked Kerry. My dad was a dedicated ESPN watcher. When they had pro wrestling on I watched. And my dad hated it. I watched Foley, Booker T, Stevie Ray. But Kerry was my favorite. I then watched WWF and told my dad that the Texas Tornado was on WWF. My dad still threw it all down. But I loved Kerry. And always will. The day he passed is still sad to me. Suicide. Boooooooooo...............

I remember being surprised when I found out that he worked with a fake leg for all of those years.
I had always noticed from the late 1980s through his WWF run that he had a strange stride when he walked and an unusual hop in his step when he rebounded off the ropes, etc. But I knew about his motorcycle accident and I knew he came back from career-threatening foot surgery, so I always just assumed he had a permanent "limp" of sorts. I never suspected it was a fake leg, but once I found out, it kind of made sense.
One story that has never been verified (and will never be verified, since Kevin is the only person who would know and he obviously doesn't dish dirt on his brothers very often): Some claim that the reason Kerry's foot was amputated is that he tried to walk on it way too soon after the reconstructive surgery because he was in a hurry to return to World Class, and the foot just crumbled under his weight and couldn't be saved.
Whether that's true or not, he did wrestle for years on a fake leg, which is remarkable. Especially since he did it with so few people figuring it out. In Roddy Piper's book, Piper wrote that in the early 1990s WWF, Kerry Von Erich used to travel and split hotel rooms with Piper, and for some reason, Piper was one of the only people Kerry trusted enough to tell him about the fake leg, and one of the only people he'd remove the leg in front of. He used to shower with his boots on so other wrestlers wouldn't find out, according to Piper.

Von Erich's seemed liked legends to me. For some reason I always thought that they hated the 4H & that they were fueding with them: Kevin, Kerry, David, & Mike versus Ric, Tully, Arn, & the flavor of the month. . . . don't ask why b/c I know now that David was already passed when 4H was formed. . . . I also thought that Kevin was the leader at the time. . . but obviously it was David.

In the WCCW doc. (non-wwe) they said that Vince was after 4 guys: Hulk, Ric, Nikita, & Kerry. . . . that woulda been some nice building blocks, woulda changed the course of history for both Kerry & Nikita as well.
