- TNA recently lost their TV rights in Japan. They were airing on Samurai! TV but no longer are.
- There has been talk of switching to two crewqs for house shows & running mostly in small towns.
- It looks like Global iMPACT! 2 from the early 09 tokyo Dome show in Japan may have been scrapped by SpikeTV

Well that's dumb. Great we have Global Impact 2 but we aren't gonna show it. But with TNA losing their rights I guess I could see why.

I guess I see the smaller towns thing with them deciding to run Jamestown, NY instead of somewhere in Buffalo. Jamestown is about 1 1/2 hours away.
And as long as global impact 2 gets a DVD release who cares if it is on Spike

TNA could run the Canton Memorial Civic Center. It's a small enough venue, and WWE runs it for house shows. I can guarantee they'd sell out. Hell, indy shows without big names sell out. People in Canton just like wrestling shows.

Small could mean smaller then the biggest city in the state (instead of running Atlanta, GA for a house show they would run Savannah or something). Anyways, doesn't matter to me - if I have the money and they're close buy I'm going. I haven't drove less than 2 hours to see TNA so lol.

I'm not saying they don't - but how many freaking UFC specials do you need? And they're all the same thing it feels like. UFC makes them money and that's fine but come on. Do you really need 10 UFC specials?

I'm gonna reply to just the first news bit.. Samurai TV has been cancelling a LOT of wrestling shows as of late. For those who don't know, Samurai TV is an all wrestling & MMA channel in Japan, a pay channel similar to HDNet here. At one point, they'd have just about any wrestling that wanted a TV deal on it. CHIKARA at one point had a TV deal with Samurai TV. As of late, Samurai TV has been letting a lot of deals expire, and cancelling a lot of shows. The Big Japan Wrestling "Death Match Wars" TV show, that had been airing on Samurai TV since early 2004, was recently cancelled. They've also cut back on airings of Osaka Pro and Occupation of the Indies. From what I understand, Samurai TV as a network is moving in a more MMA direction. So as many things as TNA does wrong, this one can't be blamed on them at all, really.

If its what is making Spike TV money..then yes you run the show as much as you can..simple economics.
TNA's ratings arent as high, thus they dont generate as much revenue for Spike

TNA's ratings arent as high, thus they dont generate as much revenue for Spike I'm not saying "Oh.. screw UFC! Don't give them no specials!" or anything. I understand it makes them money BUT iMPACT's rating is higher than the avg. rating on SpikeTV and they get screwed over every time. They can't air Epics on Spike, now they're not getting Global iMPACT, - it makes no sense to treat TNA like nothing just because UFC makes you more money. I'm not saying cancel all UFC shows and give them all to TNA. But, would one freaking special hurt? No. Would airing Epics hurt? No. Replace some of these stupid re-runs with one. Also, I think the last Fight Night (18?) got like 1.9 million viewers - it's not that much higher than 1.5 million viewers. So, it's not like it's 6.0 million viewers (UFC) vs. 1.5 (TNA). You know?

When TNA gets as big a business, as globally recognised and as important as the UFC, then you can bitch about TNA not receiving enough TV time..

UFC and MMA in general is craphot right now, it's a smart move to give it priority over something that isn't doing as well.
I agree that Spike could give TNA some more rope, but TNA will never do for Spike what UFC can.

Well, when SpikeTV initially got TNA, they said they were going to do everything in their power to promote it. They did, for a time. Now, it's like SpikeTV's bastard step-child. UFC is getting everything, and TNA gets two hours a week for their new TV. It's a bit ridiculous.

Of course the company is going to give more to the UFC. The UFC is very valuable to Spike. Spike would probably be better off to cancel Impact completely and just give the time slot to the UFC. They could make more money that way.
