The guy has some significant financial issues at the moment, ANYONE here bashing him would do the same thing if they were in his position.
As for Bret Hart I take all his words and opinions with a grain of salt. HE is the pathetic one that is so bitter and miserable he has heat with everyone.
If there is anyone who has lost respect it's him. Before he can get over the heat he has with all these wrestlers he shoots on, he first needs to get over himself.
As for Flair he is hands down the greatest performer in wrestling history, it's in his blood and he has the opportunity to supplement his current predicament and I for one don't blame him for doing it. I was at the Hall of Fame and Mania last year and was touched by his retirement ceremony but life is short. If this will make him happy I'm all for it.

Hell in a cell matches have sucked for years, HHH vs. Orton is what the McMahon family wants not what the fans want, and Flair loves to stay in his comfort zone(wrestling) much like a pig that loves to roll around in it's sh*t.

See, Ric? This is why most people go to college before becoming a wrestler. So that, when you're your age, you can do SOMETHING ELSE besides wrestle. The sad thing is Flair can do something that few college graduates can do: get paid for being you. He could continue to make a fine living simply doing public appearances, doing interviews, and signing autographs at memorabilia shows. Yet he's already stated that he's bored doing this. I really think Ric is addicted to wrestling. He doesn't know how to exist without the crowd pop and the cameras. I guess it's his right to do this but I certainly wouldn't want to put my body through the rigors of the ring at 60.

Bret Hart was right, Flair can't do anything else with his pathetic life except wrestle. He can't learn a trade or go to college.....just wrestle, how sad. You're kidding me right? It's not like Flair can tell the courts to, 'lawlz, hold on fer a while so I canz take a couple years to make moneyz'. Flair NEEDS money as soon as he can get it, people still care about him, want to see him, and he's still a big deal - now you be ing honest with me, would you rather take a gamble on something that might not pay off, or do something you know how to do, are widely regarded as one of the BEST at, and get paid a pile of cash for doing it? If you guys lost all respect for Flair, you must not have had much for him in the first place. Couldn't have said it better myself. I will always be a Ric Flair fan. If the greatest of all time wants to get back in the ring I say let him. In any other sport/entertainment it's ok. Brett Favre keeps coming back and people are fine because he's still one of the best at what he does, same as Flair. I give a about the feud as I'm sure many others do. It would be ridiculous for them to just drop the feud when Triple H returns. Besides, I guarantee there would be complaints if they did because WWE doesn't know how to maintain a storyline.

Flair had THE perfect farewell, to an amazing career and one of the most amazingly respect-laden retirement ceremonies in WWE History. It was just done the right way...
...shame he's found himself in this financial and personal crisis- I understand that he has needs, and has got to try to provide for his family doing the one thing he knows how to do best...but it just tarnishes that.
I can't hate the man, but it's like 'Scrubs' coming back for a season 9. You had the perfect send off, but you just have to go and blow it because of finances.

I've lost all respect for Flair aswell. Especially if he wrestles. Why didn't the idiot just not retire at all and keep on wrestling? Then he would get the money, and would keep his respect...

I think it's more of the urgency of needing the money, than just doing 'the one thing he does best.' The man could make more money than I can possibly fathom just wrestling a few matches. Right now, Flair should worry about how he lives the rest of his life, take care of these financial problems, and try to have a decent nest egg than worry about 'tarnishing' his send off. Was it a great gesture? Yeah. Will it pay his bills, no. No it won't. I mean, you make it sound like the real shame here isn't that he needs money, it's 'blowing his send off'.

I've officially lost all respect for Flair. Why? None of this indicates that he will be wrestling.

No, it is a shame he has so many of these issues now- but his son's a screw-up in his own right, and those wounds are self inflicted. Yes, Flair as his father is going to do everything in his power to try and take care of the situation...but honestly, look at all the legends involved, all the effort put forth and the pomp and glamour given to his farewell at WM24. Hopefully he truly is still in top shape, can handle ring work well into his 60's and doesn't wind up in any way injuring or marring his legacy by doing this. I'm not attacking Flair, I do hope all works out for him in the end...I just feel that he still sees it as an 'I CAN GOOO!!! I'm still a legend!!!' type of ego-centric thing deep down, and not solely because of his dire needs.

I honestly think you guys are being too harsh on him. At 60-something are you gonna want to go to school and start a new career? He's a legendary wrestler, has a huge fanbase and can still be entertaining. It does stink that he'd go back on such a great retirement but apparently he never even wanted to in the first place. If he needs the money, why not?

The way I see it is..
While I don't exactly want to see it happen, I'm fine with Ric Flair returning for short stints in WWE..
Wrestlemania 24 could be seen as his farewell to being an everyday wrestler. But I see nothing wrong with him returning for one-off matches and storylines..
just don't be an active wrestler 300 days out of the year.

The fact of the matter is that at the time he retired, he thought he was pretty well set, and probably could get by without wrestling. Since then he has been through a divorce and his son has ed up bad, causing Ric to not be as set as he thought. Fact is, no matter how he went out, he needs to get back in. Which would you guys rather see? Ric come back and "ruin his perfect sendoff" or wind up in jail because he couldn't pay the bitch? I'd rather not see the greatest world champion of all time in jail over money issues he could've avoided by getting in the ring, no matter how many of you guys he pisses off.

Or they could make him a full time manager, and let him build a stable ala the Hennan Family. That would be cool.
