"boo the controls LOOK the same" SvR has their poop together when it comes to controls. Its the most advanced control scheme for a wrestling game yet. Theres nowhere to go but down from their current controls. Haha oh wow, you obviously haven't played many wrestling games that don't feature the WWE license.

With the SvR control scheme you gan do at least 150 moves in one match.

Um, what are you talking about? There's nowhere near that amount of moves in a SVR moveset and no, I wasn't really referring to Fire Pro, but it really doesn't matter since you wouldn't give a crapabout any Japanese wrestling games since the wrestlers are unknown to you.

With the SvR control scheme you gan do at least 150 moves in one match. That's kind of stretching it, maybe with the direction button scheme on HCTP and SvR, where each direction combo had a different move. But now with the "ultimate control" stuff you basically have 10-12 moves for front grapple alone, where as there was 16. The moves have shortened throughout time and I usually find myself doing the same moves over due to the new scheme. Just my opinion.... get rid of Ultimate control and bring back button mashing submissions.

But seriously. The control scheme in SvR is okay, but it is nothing compared to the HCTP style, and doesn't even come CLOSE to touching the style of No Mercy, WM2000, VPW, etc. Now, don't get me wrong, I actually really like the UCM. I LOVE picking someone up for a chokeslam, walking around the ring a bit, then tossing him outside the ring. That's awesome. But the fact that it takes up two spots that should be used for regular grapple moves, sucks. They should've made a separate button combo for the UCM. (Like, idk, holding down LB while moving the RS) That way there are more grapple moves. I feel like when I play an SvR match, I see the same moves over, and over again. It gets boring.

I want 1 thing out of this game, and that's more options for create a finisher, and if there isn't I most likely wont be buying.

Everyone really needs to just chill the out. It was a 30 second clip... Um, what are you talking about? And dude, that is such a pretentious statement right there. Just because you're apparently a fan of Japanese wrestling and know everything about it, doesn't mean everyone else has to be. Who the cares about Japanese wrestling games--this is the SmackDown! vs. RAW 2010 thread, not a Fire Pro or whatever one. If the guy wants to play a game that features WWE Superstars in it, then why should he be criticized for that? Sorry that not everyone fits your smarky standards...

I wonder how SVR would feel with DOR Gameplay and higher resolutioned graphics a la DOR2. I just feel after DOR they had gotten lazy after creating a "new" engine and look. Though they were two of the best wrestling game THQ/Yukes put out there. Makes me wish I didnt mess up both DOR AND DOR2. Now I have to depend on GameStop to possibly have them

Listen bub, he's the one who brought up Fire Pro, not me, and in my original post where I referred to non WWE games, I was thinking of WCW/nWo Revenge since it came out before his time. He wants to play a game that features WWE wrestlers, fine. But when he claims that somehow the latest SVR game is the apex of wrestling games when far superior WWE games like No Mercy, DOR, and HCTP have been available for years now, I'm going to passionately disagree.

I will agree with you on this one, WCW/nWo Revenge had a great control system.

Oh, okay. My bad, dude. Must have been a misunderstanding on my part. And that is true. The AKI and DOR games as well as HCTP all have way better controls than the current SmackDown! games have.

I remember when SvR 07 came out and hand a completely new control scheme. I thought it would be great to use the sticks instead of the buttons.
I hated it and switched back to the old controls after one match.

I still don't get why they removed the left and right strong grapple slots for UCM moves. In 2007 when they first debuted you had to click the RS to access the UCM, they should have left it like that.

Thanks to our reader Duggie Shortland we’ve got some very interesting news regarding WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010. The news below can be found on the official Italian THQ site, checkout below a rough translation of the new features and modes. “Unleash creativity with the Universe WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. Create a Superstar more realistic than ever thanks to a renewed Create a Superstar mode. Use the parts and the new 3D paint tools to create original tattoos, logos and designs. Tells the story of your Superstar through the Story mode Designer. Choose Superstar, filmed sequences, and matching shots.” “Write your own scripts and that your rules. Upload your creations online and download stories, Superstars and more thanks to the WWE Community.” (Which we believe to be an enhanced ‘Be the General Manager’ mode, this time giving you the ability to have more control over the matches and direction of feuds.) Test in the Royal Rumble match new facts or new road in the stories of Road to WrestleMania. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 – Now’s your universe.” _____________________________________________________ Credit: ve3tro.com
