As reported earlier, Lisa Marie Varon, who was referred to as "the former Victoria" in her TNA debut last week, is set go under the name "Tara" in the promotion.
The reason for this is TNA wants to own all ring names and merchandising rights, so unless you are someone with a huge name that is your own name — like Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley or Scott Hall — you are going to be given a new name most of the time

I still hate her whatever name is Is it because she is most likely going to win the KO's title off of Angelina Love? I don't see how you can hate her wrestling ability since she is a great wrestler who will be a great KO's champ, but I have a feeling you will see soon enough..  |

I don't see why TNA has to own the names... they're not in a position where it matters. Worst case scenario is a wrestler takes their ringname to the indies where it does no damage to TNA, or they go to WWE where they're given a new name (ie R-Truth) or go back to their old one (ie. Christian.)
Lisa Varon has a ring to it and is far better than Tara which wreaks of WWE's "first name only for a diva" mentality. TNA is horrible at coming up with marketable names...

Angelina Love from what I've seen is at the top of her game right now. Let Victoria and Kong chase the title or something. Love should hold it until BFG tbh. |

Why can't she just use her real name? She could just go by Lisa Marie or Lisa Varon. Tara is lame. Is it just going to be Tara or will she have a last name?

Why not call her the black widow? I mean, her finisher is the widow's peak, and I could have sworn she had a nickname like that in WWE. To my knowledge, that name hasn't been used on t.v.

Lisa Marie sounds like a posh Kentucky girl, who spends her days drinking lemonade and wearing summer dresses. Terrible for her.
I'd go with Tori Varon. I like the sound of that.

Like they would come out of retirement to wrestle in TNA. I know it is a way lighter schedule but I think both would rather stay retired then wrestle in tna. About Angelina having the title til Bound For Glory, that is a kinda long time (would mean her reign would be about 6 months) but I guess it would be better if Victoria won the Knockout's title at BFG since it is a big PPV. |
