West is like a tna smark when he's heel, he usually points out all the bad things in the show.

One thing that kills West's new found wit is Tenay's inability to play off of it. One time he said something that went perfectly: West: Omg...it's Rock Balboa, a former world champion....Tenay: Shut up Don, it's a cardboard cut out" . Now that was funny, but too many times Tenay sounds stale in his response or inserts comments that seemed force. I think Tenay lacks the ability to do the verbal jab thing with another announcer, which is why he was the analyst in WCW and not the lead. He still sounds like he's analyzing the match instead of just commenting on it. Tenay can announce but he's not the right guy for the spot they want him to do.

I agree - 100%. We should just rename this the "Don West/Mike Tenay Apperciation Thread". West: You know what's the difference between Taylor Wilde & Daffney? Tenay: I guess I'm about to... West: Taylor Wilde's the kind of woman who you take home to your mother...and then you leave her with your mother and you sneak out to hook up with Daffney. Tenay: So where does that leave Awesome Kong? West: Hopefully at your house. Brilliant. Haha, now I liked that one. I can't stand Don West. I think they seriously need to replace him. True, he's been more entertaining as of late but that's not saying much. He's still terrible. I wish they would've left Mick Foley there instead of making him an "executive shareholder'. |

Let's not get all full of ourselves here. this is still the smae tandem that for the past six years was annoying as hell. Just becasue West has found a few one liners doesnt mean they're still a great commentating team. Ten still sounds lie he's readin from script and West still inhales the mic and comes across as tryig to hard to be a heel announcer. Have they made improvements? yes. But they are far from the best. thank god for some sense in this. |

I never liked West before the heel turn but now he cracks me up. I wish WWE would have lawler as a heel announcer again, he was much better back then.

Don West has gotten a lot better, and usually a couple times a week cracks me up. But he still sucks, and so does Mike Tenay. In fact, I think all four major announce teams suck. JR and Grisham are the best, but lack a certain chemestry. Watching Macho Madness, I miss the days of Gorilla/Ventura and Gorilla/Heenan

ecw announce team is the best, but even it was better before todd went to smackdown. and no, i'm not a wwe homer...i prefer tna!
