I dont watch ecw so i dont know
If Dreamer wins the title is he going to continue wrestling or is it just to prove that he can win it.
btw i read in an article on wrestlezone, dreamer said if he doesnt win, he will NOT become ecw gm
Anyway....if he loses the match ill change this to the tommy dreamer retirement thread.

This is what you saw Tommy Dreamer's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment expired yesterday. However, he recently signed a one-day extension to compete at tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view — and has vowed that if he doesn't win the ECW Championship, he will not re-sign with the company. -- SLAM! Wrestling has an interview with Tommy Dreamer discussing tonight possibly being his final night with World Wrestling Entertainment. In the interview, Dreamer clarifies his situation, saying it's not some retirement angle, and that he won't return as General Manager of ECW or show up on Raw or SmackDown. "I guess if I was like my mentor Terry Funk, I would have retired a million times," Dreamer joked. "But this isn't an angle for me, this is the real deal. My contract legitimately was up, and I really signed a one-day extension and that's it. If I lose, then I'm gone. I've read some rumours that said that I would come back as General Manager or that I would move to Raw or Smackdown. But like I said on (the company's website) WWE Universe: No. If I lose, I'm gone. You will not see me on WWE programming again."

If he indeed loses, I'd love to see ECW originals come to the ring and pay respect to him and sort of celebrate, Sandman, Sabu, RVD, Terry Funk, etc. It would be great to see.

He already knows if he's gonna win or lose. And at no point in anything he said, were the words "if I win..."
Dreamer is gone.

I hope that WWE doesn't kill ECW by giving the title to Swagger again. Dreamer to win tonight!

Hopefully he does win. He is the last of the original ECW and it would be a good tribute.

We went from half of ECW's stars being Originals in 2007, to possibly the last remaining on the brand leaving tonight. Not what Heyman had in mind, now was it. But everyone knew this would happen once he left anyway so

I swear to God if he 'retires', then winds up in TNA two months later(looking at you, Mick Foley) I will lose all respect for the man.

I still think he can 'hang' in the ring with certain guys, but he would do so much more for ECW in a GM role than he would walking away from the WWE and going to compete in the company overloaded with former ECW and WWE guys way past their prime who don't know when to chill out and take a backseat to the stars of the future.

I hope WWE just it and have an epic brutal hardcore tripl 3 Way Dance where Tommy wins. If not, then when Tommy loses, like someone above said, the Originals come out to pay respects. I'd mark the hell out. I'd bet my life savings it won't happen.

My ideal scenario is that Dreamer wins, proclaims that ECW is dead, throws the belt away, a third of the roster is divvied up amongst Raw and SD, and the other two-thirds are promptly released.
I can dream.

Imagine if Dreamer won. Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Sandman etc. come out and celebrate and a good old ECW chant erupts.

I really am pulling for him to win, mainly cos his only other ECW title reign lasted what, 35 minutes? It'd be a nice gesture to reward him for his dedication.
