Sugar Ray Robinson
Even Ali admits he was better than he was.

Personally, Ive always believed a young Mike Tyson was the greatest fighter Ive ever seen. Its a shame we missed his prime due to jail time.

People will argue that Ali would do the legendary Rope a dope and take Tyson long into the fight where he would wear down. What people fail to realize is honestly I dont think Ive ever seen anyone hit as hard as Tyson. Ali could do the rope a dope but could he with stand the beating Tyson put on him or would he fall in the middle rounds? Ali vs a Young Tyson (with his first Trainer) would be the most amazing fight in all of professional sports. The world would probably explode at the he-man like testosterone that would fill the ring

Whether or not he beat up bums is irrelevant. His one punch could knock a man loopy. I know first hand in my one time experience facing Mike Tyson in Punch Out. I got in 3 shots before that toothless summma bich raped my a$$ ...but i digress ....In a pure boxing match the edge goes to Ali. but in the moment... a prime Ali vs a prime Tyson...my money is on Tyson. Now if Nintendo could just make punch out for Xbox 360 so I can get my revenge on that ear biting baby eating nut job... ..whoah! I luv Mike ..God rest his baby girl

The problem is, the few times Mike fought a good boxer, he got knocked loopy.
Sure, his power knocked out bums left and right, but we never got to watch him dominate quality opponents.

Tyson in his prime was certainly in the discussion... I'll give him a pass on the Buster Douglas loss, eventhough its his fault for showing up out of shape for that fight.
Even after he served time in jail, he came back and steamrolled a few tomato cans.
What does Mike in are the Holyfield losses, and his last 6 fights...
I'll even give him a pass on Lewis. A prime Lewis versus a past his prime Tyson isn't a good fight... but even a past his prime Mike should beat up on Kevin McBride and Danny Williams.
He should be in the discussion, but he falls short for a lot of reasons.
