AAA 3/15/09 - AAA World Championship Steel Cage Match: El Mesias vs. Chessman
I was severely disappointed in this match after it being hyped to me as a MOTYC. It started off slow. Then they started throwing big spots in a slow order. After that, there was an unneeded interference by the late Abismo Negro, Aerostar and many others. Aerostar did a dive off the top of the cage. That was impressive. But then again, it wasn't really needed. The whole segment lasted nearly five minutes and completely killed the heat of the match. By then, you're wondering "Is this match still going or..." But yep, it was still going. The finish comes shortly after. Not that it was a bad match but it's hard not to say mostly negative things after watching a 40 minute match and it only being solid. **3/4
AJPW 8/30/09 - Satoshi Kojima, KAI, and Hiroshi Yamato vs. Kenta Kobashi, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, and Akihiko Ito (re-watch)
Kobashi's first All Japan match in over nine years. Awesome match! I liked it even more on the DVD re-watch. A big screen is much better than a computer monitor. Kobashi and Kojima brought the heat with a chop battle that lasted nearly two minutes! Kojima was very excited to be in the ring with a legend like Kobashi, as he said in an interview. Young Ito gained respect from the All Japan crowd. From this match, it looked like he was going to be a huge star. Unfortunately, injuries said otherwise as the rookie retired earlier this year. MOTYC all the way. ****1/4
NJPW 1/4/10 - Jushin Liger, Koji Kanemoto, and Kazuchika Okada vs. Super Strong Machine, Wataru Inoue, and Mitsuhide Hirasawa
Way too short but okay. 3/4*
NJPW 1/4/10 - IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: Ryusuke Taguchi and Prince Devitt vs. Ultimo Guerrero and Averno
Very solid match here. All four guys looked good. **1/2
NJPW 1/4/10 - IWGP Tag Team Championship Hardcore Rules: Team 3D vs. NO LIMIT vs. Giant Bernard and Karl Anderson
I enjoyed it for what it was. *3/4
NJPW 1/4/10 - Yuji Nagata and Akebono vs. TAJIRI and Masato Tanaka
Good match here. Anything with Nagata and Tanaka is pretty much good. ***
Kensuke Office 2/11/10 - Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Naomichi Marufuji
This wasn't near as bad as people were making out it out to be. But it wasn't necessarily great either. **3/4
NJPW 2/14/10 - Jushin Liger, Koji Kanemoto, and Tiger Mask IV vs. Kota Ibushi, Fujita "Jr." Hayato, and GENTARO
Nice little sprint here. Kanemoto and Hayato = gold. Rematch from Super J-Cup, please. **1/2
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Sheamus vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Ted DiBiase
Awesome match here. I had a feeling going into the match that Sheamus would lose the title and he didn't even make it to the final two. ****
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Batista
Awesome moment here. Not much of a match but like the Raw match, it served its purpose, except in a bigger way. 1/2*
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - Intercontinental Championship: Drew McIntyre vs. Kane
Way too boring for my liking. I understand some matches looked at as "boring" by some fans are just not understood by those fans and the match actually has smart work and excellent psychology. But this match had none of that. It was just plain boring and dragged on far too long. 3/4*
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - Maryse and Gail Kim vs. Michelle McCool and Layla
Kept it short, which was good. 1/4*
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - WWE United States Championship: The Miz vs. MVP
Nice match here. **1/2
WWE No Way Out (2/21/10) - World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match: The Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth
My new MOTY. ****1/4
WWE Raw 2/22/10 - Gail Kim vs. Maryse
Eh, this one had quite a few major flaws. Had it not, it would have been passable. Not that it wasn't better than most Raw divas matches we've seen lately. 1/2*
WWE Raw 2/22/10 - Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, and Cody Rhodes vs. Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, and Yoshi Tatsu
This was a solid match. Yoshi is apparently on Raw now. **1/4
WWE Raw 2/22/10 - Christian vs. Carlito
Another solid match. Christian looked good. **1/2
WWE Raw 2/22/10 - Big Show and Miz vs. MVP and Mark Henry
Eh, an okay match. *3/4
WWE Raw 2/22/10 - Batista vs. John Cena
This match served its purpose. DUD
WWE NXT 2/23/10 - Christian and Heath Slater vs. Carlito and Michael Tarver
Slater looked okay. Tarver sucks. NXT. 3/4*
WWE NXT 2/23/10 - David Otunga vs. Darren Young
Otunga has a lot of charisma. Young sucks. Once Otunga gets a little better in the ring, he could be very solid. 1/4*
WWE NXT 2/23/10 - Chris Jericho vs. Daniel Bryan
AmDrag's debut match! He looked very good here and excited to be out there. I have never heard a crowd pop that hard for a submission in quite some time. **3/4
