I had tuned into Fox News a few minutes past six for no reason, just to see if there was any news, and I saw where it had said he had gone to UCLA and was under cardiac arrest. Then word came in he was in a coma. Then at around 6:15 Shepard Smith announced that Michael Jackson had died. I wasn't really a fan, but this is something that no one can just say it was "no big deal", because it was.

Watching the helicopter land and then seeing them move his body to the van was pretty upsetting. I mean...damn.

Should I feel like a bad person if I really don't care. Not at all. Never a fan. Hopefully his kids won't be as ed up as he turned out to be. He made some hits but I just don't get the hype.

Not gonna lie here. I've scoured the internet. I've seen some horrifying stuff. Some terrible gore, some pictures of people being abused, abusing themselves, stuff that would traumatize most people, and I chuckle at it. I'm a hard person to disturb. That picture, however, made my heart hurt a little bit. As a man who is a fan of laughing at things that are in poor taste, even I find this to be in poor taste, and the fact that it's being broadcast for anyone with a ing internet connection to ogle at makes my head spin with rage toward the media.

It still hasn't fully sunk in yet and I've been following this since the news broke out. This celebrity death has really hit me hard, especially how suddenly it all developed.

Wow that is so ED UP. The scene where they where showing the helicopter and the body being moved reminded me of Heath Ledger, when the media was surrounding the ambulance to get shots of the body bag. Vultures.

Michael Jackson's passing to those of us who grew up in the 1980s and like myself first got into his style and music with his off the wall album is what Elvis' passing in 1977 was to that generation...
for us wrestling fans we have lost alot of 80s icons and when added in the celebs from then passing it is a horrible thing to see your child hood literally die off... my prayers and condolences go out to Michael Jackson's friends, family and all his fans including the segment of us who discovered this giant talent in the 80s... Michael, you will always be the king of pop in our hearts...
how i wish i was a kid again and could relive the 80s on a repeating loop...

It's so weird to me. One of the biggest people on earth is dead at 50. This is gonna get more news coverage than 9/11.

Sad that he died but he's been in declining health for awhile and everyone figured he wouldn't make it through his shows at the O2. I feel worse for the MJ's kids. Seeing as how they will probably go to family, we can only hope they go to Rebbie Jackson as she seems like the least messed up Jackson.
As sad as this is, if people actually followed news on him, this was going to happen sooner than later.

Don't get caught up in the cult of celebrity. Michael Jackson was NOT bigger than Elvis Presley. They're two different animals. I disagree with this. Michael was bigger than Elvis IMO. Michael has inspired so many people, not even just music, but dancing as well. Thriller is the most selling album of all time, thats enough proof for me. I'm all for greiving, but lets not get delusional... Nobody, was bigger than Elvis.

This is terrible. And f*** the media for praising him. They spent decades attacking the guy and trying to make him look bad and now it's all compliments. RIP Michael Jackson... The King of Pop and the greatest dancer ever (try to argue with me on that... every celebrity and choreographer copies Jackson).

i'm still in disbelief at this...its weird to think of a modern world without Michael Jackson...I mean the guy was one of the most well known celebrities on the PLANET.
I was thinking...we'll never truly know if any "foul play" went on between him and little kids...but imagine if honest to god the guy just loved kids. Not in a creepy way...but in a normal human being way, like he just liked to make kids happy to live through them as a child. Everyone loves to just accuse and point fingers saying "MOLESTER!!" when none of us really knows the truth. We only know what the media reports.
I'm just saying, the man is dead...can we forget now that he may or may not have inapropriately touched young boys...just look at him as a music god and an interesting human being.

Not to make light of his death but I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 to 10 years, the Elvis impersonators fade out and get replaced by phony Michael Jackson impersonators. No not people stealing his style but the impersonators we often see pretending to be Mr. Presley.
