People can say what they will about being a child molestor and whatnot, but he was proven innocent in a court of law. It will remain unknown on wether or not he did or didn't do it. However, this reminds me of the Benoit situation...
The man might have done some questionable things in HIS life that don't make him the greatest person in the world. However, when it came to pop music... nobody did it better, nor ever will.

I'm all for greiving, but lets not get delusional... Nobody, was bigger than Elvis. Not to make light of his death but I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 to 10 years, the Elvis impersonators fade out and get replaced by phony Michael Jackson impersonators. No not people stealing his style but the impersonators we often see pretending to be Mr. Presley. I know what you mean, don't worrie. Truth be told, there are a large number of both groups of impersonators. No doubt these too have the most. But in terms of everything, Elvis will always be better known. |

Damn. MJ was the best. I remember buying his VHS tape in the 80's just so I could dance like him. I can honestly say with this happening a major part of my childhood has also died.

It really is sad. And at the same time, you just have to realize that MJs legacy will always be tainted. He led an odd, bizarre life and participated in behaviors no straight thinking human being would think about doing. Much like most popular people in the industries, one can't be brought up without somewhere the other being mentioned. Bob Crane will always be the entertaining actor from Hogans Heroes that wound up dead because of his home made adult movies, Benoit will be one of the best wrestlers of our time that committed a heinous act, OJ Simpsons will always be the killer who got away, and MJ will always be the King of Pop and the weirdo that admittedly shared a bed with children not his own, was accused numerous times over for nefarious deeds, and had looked like a zombie. Didn't stop me from listening to Thriller last week.

I heard his Breaking News story on my Morning show here in Australia and I was shocked, he was the last person I thought would pass, I feel sorry for his fans, family, and his children, its a shame that we could never do his concert now, R.I.P Michael Jackson

I'm very torn on this topic. While I was a big fan when I was a kid, I haven't cared for his music in a long time. That, combined with the child molestation trials, have really swayed my opinion on him. Of course, I'm not happy that he passed away, but to me this would have had a bigger impact on the world if this happened in 1989 instead of 2009.
