Nothing happens.
Nah, just kidding. There’s pyro and whatnot.
Matthew Werner: Welcome to Loaded, where for once our enthusiasm doesn’t haven’t be faked, thanks to a huge main event.
Matt Steel: But the title’s not on the line.
Matthew Werner: It’s still big.
Matt Steel: Oh, I guess so.
ICU vs. Drake Legend vs. Christian Shields vs. Brandon Wolfe
Wolfe looked impressive in his debut, as did the returning Shields. But after several minutes of action, Wolfe and ICU ended up fighting onto the floor, giving Shields the chance to pin Legend without having it broken up.
Thunder is shown backstage sitting in Trace Demon’s office. He is obviously distressed, and is shouting down the phone.
Thunder: Pick up the damn phone Trace. I’ve not heard from you in days and I need to know what the hell is up with booking me against EBR.
Thunder Pauses.
Thunder (Shouting): Pick up the bloody phone Trace before I rip somebody’s head off.
Thunder pauses before a beep is heard, indicating Trace Demon has finally picked up.
Thunder: Thank god, where in the hell have you been?
Thunder pauses once again as he listens to Demon’s voice down the phone. His expression turns into one of disbelief.
Thunder: What do you mean you’re involved in an underground fight club?
Thunder pauses, before slamming his hand down on the desk in front of him.
Thunder: No Trace, your not Edward Norton and Brad Pitt is not your imaginary personality planning some scheme! (pause before shouting). Because it’s a film Trace. It’s called Fight Club.
Thunder becomes angrier as he listens to the voice on the other end.
Thunder: You did not star in Fight Club! That was Edward Norton. (Pause). You are not Edward bloody Norton!
Thunder takes some deep breaths before continuing.
Thunder: Now just tell me what you’re thinking booking me against EBR. (Pause). What do you mean ratings? That was just some bull I fed Burton last week.
A beep is heard on the other end of the phone. Thunder takes it away from his ear in disbelief, before throwing it across the room. Thunder slumps in the seat.
Thunder: The man’s lost it. Trace Demon has lost his damn mind.
Tempest vs. Calvin Lee
The two had a highly competitive match that came to end with an attempt by Lee to hit the Wrist Clutch Burning Hammer. Tempest was able to slip out the back and hit The Romulus for the pin.
“The Carpal Tunnel of Love” by Fall Out Boy plays on the PA as Kronic and Tabitha Owens walk out from behind the curtain. Kronic stands there awkwardly, as Tabitha nudges him down the aisle. Kronic high-fives a few hands of the fans in a nervous manner.
Keri Thames: Making his way to the ring, accompanied by Tabitha Owens, he is KRONIC!
Kronic goes sliding into the ring and hiding behind the referee and the arena lights dim as the big screen displays a black and white movie style count down running from 3 to 1 before “Won't Let Go” by InMe hits the sound system and a small amount of white pyros explode in the entrance way. Seconds after the pyros end WFWF hall of famer Johnny Michaels jumps through the smoke onto the stage. Once out Michaels runs to each side of the stage in turn and waves his arms signaling to the crowd to get up before he then starts to walk to the ring high fiving and shaking hands with some fans on his way then, at the half way point of the ramp.
Keri Thames: And his partner, making his way to the ring....he is JOHNNY MICHAELS!
Michaels runs to the ring and slides under the bottom rope to enter it. In the ring Michaels leaps to his feet and runs off the ropes once to test there strength before climbing up the top right and bottom left turnbuckles where he raises his arms to the crowd before jumping down.
“Cyanide” by Metallica echoes as Reckless makes his way out from behind the curtain. Reckless stands at the top of the stage and takes in all the boos he is receiving.
Keri Thames: And the opponents. First, making his way to the ring....RECKLESS!
Reckless has gotten to the ring now. Hr rolls in and taunts Kronic and Michaels, then he winks at Tabitha which sets Kronic off, leaving Michaels and the ref to hold him back.
“Revelation” by Symphony X resonates as the crowd comes to their feet for the entering Jon O'Deeves. Dynamite gets to the stage and makes a fist with his right hand, and leaves his left open. He crashes them together, mouths the word “BOOM” and a black pyro waterfall rains down, Jon now basking in it.
Keri Thames: And his partner. Representing Revelation, 'Dynamite' JON O'DEEVES!
Jon climbs the stairs and gets into the ring, charging at Johnny Michaels, taking him down with a clothesline. Reckless and Kronic go to the apron and the bell rings.
Jon starts punching Michaels in the face, Michaels attempting to cover up. The ref pulls Jon off, but then Jon goes right back after Johnny Michaels, dropping elbows and knees. The ref counts to four, Jon getting off then. Michaels sits up, only to receive a harsh kick to the mouth from O'Deeves.
Matthew Werner: I don't think I've ever seen this kind of intensity from Jon O'Deeves. Ever.
Matt Steel: I hear ya man.
O'Deeves picks up Michaels and Irish Whips him off the ropes. On the back around, O'Deeves drops Michaels with a back body drop. Michaels gets on his hands and knees, trying to crawl to his corner, but Jon delivers a hard boot to Michaels' gut. Johnny M howls in pain as O'Deeves laughs, running his hand through his greasy black hair. Jon points at Kronic, lifts up Johnny, and Irish Whips him into Johnny and Kronic's corner. Kronic makes the tag immediately and charges Jon O'Deeves, taking him down with a Lou Thez press, both men throwing punches to the face and gut of the other. Reckless, on the apron, is getting the crowd behind Jon O'Deeves. “Lets go, Jon 'O, Hate you Reckless”, Reckless laughs at the chant. Jon gets his feet under Kronic's stomach, sending him up and over with a monkey flip. Kronic lands on his feet. Jon kicks up and turns around and gets superkicked by Kronic. Jon falls like a stack of bricks, and Kronic covers him>
1...2...
Kick out at two by Jon O'Deeves! Kronic puts Jon in a reverse chin-lock, his knee in his back cranking back. Jon's arms are floundering around, attempting to get Kronic off of him. Moments pass, and Jon hits a lucky backfist off of Kronic's chin, breaking the hold. Jon rolls out of the ring for a breather. The ref checks on Kronic, paying no mind to what's going on outside the ring. Johnny Michaels leaps off of the apron, driving a double fisted hammer into the back of the neck of an unknowing O'Deeves. Johnny leaps back to his corner just in time, as the ref has turned to look for Jon. The ref begins to count Jon out.
1.........2..........3..........4...........5..........6............7...........8.........
With Jon not even moving, Reckless has taken off into the ring and spears Kronic. The ref goes to pull Reckless off. Johnny Michaels comes into the ring and starts punching Reckless, actually able to get him off of Kronic. Johnny throws Reckless ofer the ropes, and then he goes out of the ring to take care of business. O'Deeves, in this mess, has managed to get to his feet and barely make it into the ring. He sits himself up in the corner, taking another breather. Kronic has gotten to his feet and makes it to his corner and tags in Johnny Michaels. Johnny runs at the downed Jon O'Deeves, but he rolls on the mat to his corner. He goes to tag Reckless, but Reckless avoids the hand. Jon, annoyed, decks Reckless, and the ref calls it a tag. Jon shrugs and slides out of the ring. Reckless comes into the ring and continues staring down Jon O'Deeves. Reckless turns around and is dropped by Michaels and the Directors Cut. Reckless quickly taps out.
Keri Thames: Here are your winners, Johnny Michaels and Kronic!
“Won't Let Go” by InMe echoes through the arena as Michaels, Tabitha and Kronic celebrate in victory. The two men and woman, after a moment or two, roll out of the ring and go to the back. The music fades as Reckless gets his wits about him. Jon climbs into the ring and starts shouting at Reckless. Reckless blows him off until he gets to his feet. Then the two men are right in each other's faces, shouting and jawing. Jon gets the last word in and turns his back on Reckless. Reckless pounds a fist into the back of Jon's head, dropping him. Reckless starts stomping and pounding on the body and head of O'Deeves. Reckless pulls Jon into the center of the ring and drops a knee to the back of his head. Reckless looks over to Keri and the announcers and gets a smirk on his face. He goes to the ropes and climbs out of the ring. He shoves Keri out of her chair, and he grabs another chair from her side. He folds them and throws them into the ring.
Matt Steel: Uh-oh....
Reckless rolls into the ring, grabs one of the chairs, and bashes Jon in the back. He takes that chair and puts it under Jon's face, bashing his head into the chair. Reckless grabs the other chair, hoists it up, and drills it into O'Deeves, hitting a con-chair-to. “Revelation” by Symphony X resonates as the crowd erupts.
Matthew Werner: Here comes the calvary!
Aaron Ashton, Ace Bennett, and The High Horror all come running out from behind the curtain, a weapon in hand. They charge at the ring. Before getting the hell outta Dodge, Reckless drills O'Deeves with another con-chair-to. Revelation hits the ring, and Reckless bolts out, and gets up and over the barricade into the crowd. Ashton and Bennett kneel at Jon's side, but The High Horror continues chasing after Reckless. He is able to leap the barricade in one bound, and readies his sledgehammer as he chases after Reckless. Reckless gets up the steps of the arena and out into the concessions part of the arena. Horror gets there only seconds after Reckless, still running like a mad man.
“RECKLESS!” Horror shouts, as the people in the concessions area move out of the way for the two men. Reckless makes a tight turn and goes out the big blue door to the parking lot. Horror, again, gets there just after Reckless. Reckless gets into his pitch black Mercedes Benz and starts the ignition and takes off. Horror chucks the hammer at the car, it shatters the back window. Horror has a manic expression on his face, and squeezes his head, as if to keep it together. He lets out a yell as the camera fades.
The entire arena goes black, then the cracks of Thunder and Lightning, along with the violin starts to fill the speakers and it abruptly stops. The arena lights come on, but the tron lights flicker with the beats of Miseria Cantere. Yukio Blaze comes out after a few seconds, with the crowd completely behind him. Yukio walks halfway down the ramp, following with him dropping to one knee to look over the crowd.
Keri Thames: First. From Flint, Michigan. Weighing in at two-hundred and thirty pounds..."The Saint" YUKIO BLAZE!
Yukio kips up, then slides under the ring ropes, followed by him rolling up in the center of the ring as he crosses his arms and gestures devil horns with his right hand, while having his left fist clinched, as the song stops on, "YOU ARE NOW, ONE OF US". Yukio cracks his hands and fingers as he waits for Kurt.
The opening chords to With the Fire blares over the speakers as video clips of riots and destruction play on the big screen. Suddenly, a golden waterfall of pyro pours down, as Kurt Burton emerges, carrying his handy lead pipe to the ring, The pyro dies, and Kat saunters up to him, and wraps her leg around him. He brandishes the pipe at the crowd, and bangs his head.
Keri Thames: And the opponent. Accompanied by Kat Hamilton. From Highland Heights, Kentucky, weighing in at two hundred and thirty pounds, he is Kurt Burton!
They run to the ring, and he steps through the ropes and throws off his shades and jacket. Kat slides underneath his legs, placing her hand on her chin. He raises his pipe once more. Kat pops up, and leaves the ring, Burton puting the pipe in the corner. The ref tolls the bell.
Kurt and Yukio tie up. Kurt is able to take over with a nice headlock. Yukio pushes Kurt off onto the ropes.Kurt comes back, ducks a clothesline from Yukio, and locks Yukio in a sleeper. Before it takes effect, Yukio lifts Kurt up and drops him with a Samoan Drop, but somehow Kurt keeps the headlock on! Kat is on the outside cheering for her man, who is about to put Yukio on Dream Street. The crowd is cheering for Yukio though. Upon hearing this, he gets a second wind of sorts and manages to wriggle out of the headlock. Kurt pounds the mat and gets to his feet, helping Blaze to his too. Burton throws a punch, Yukio evades, and drops Burton with a Flashback. Blaze covers Kurt.
1........2.......
Kurt kicks out at two! Yukio slaps Kurt's head a few times, the drives an elbow into his temple. Blaze goes to the corner of the ring and crouches. Kurt pulls himself up with the ropes, and turns to face Blaze. Yukio attacks, hitting a Crane type knee to Kurts jaw, sending him backwards. Kurt falls into the corner, and Yukio delivers another one of those Crane knees, and turns that into a bulldog afterwords. Kat shreeks, and Yukio winks at her when he covers Burton.
1.....2.......
Burton rolls his shoulder up barely in time. Blaze picks up Burton, puts him in DDT position, but Burton twists out and drops Blaze with a Brazillian Ju-Jitsu armdrag. Blaze pops back up in recoil, and Burton hooks him and drops him with a beautiful front suplex. Kurt goes to Blaze's legs and attempts to lock in a Figure-4, but Blaze kicked his way out of it. Yukio rolls, trying to get up, but Burton delivers a vicious punch down into Blaze's ribs. Yukio instantly clutches his ribs and kicks the canvas a couple times, obviously in pain.
Kurt goes to the corner and pretends to be playing with the ropes as Kat gets onto the apron and calls the ref. he tries to get her off the apron, but his back is turned on Kurt. Burton picks up the lead pipe from that corner, and blasts Yukio in the stomach with it, and rolls it out of the ring. Kat gets off of the apron while Burton makes a cover.
1.....2.....3
Keri Thames: Here is your winner....KURT BURTON!
The Anointed vs. Revelation
Horror and Ashton were certainly the underdogs coming into the match, but may have turned more than a few heads with their strong performance. Still, experience turned out to be the key factor in giving The Anointed he victory.
Matt Steel: Main event show down clash of the titans what what.
Matthew Werner: Elegantly put.
Gentle guitar chords of the opening of "Imperium" by Machine Head softly carries on the soundwaves as on the tron we see several at night shots of the Los Angeles skyline and various shots of DGX. As the heavier bass and drums thunders in over the softer guitar there is a large explosion on the stage!
Matt Steel: Boom! Yeah! Tough economy be damned!
Matthew Werner: Looks like we’re going to be joined by the number one contender to the Heavyweight Title.
Matt Steel: Maybe he can replace you. Nothing personal but you bring the mood down with your negativity.
As the drums rhythmically pick up, DGX appears on the stage with his back to the crowd, his arms raised in a classic double biceps pose. As the first vocals enter the song DGX spins around with a determined but cocky grin on his face and begins to walk with purpose to the ring. Behind him on the stage pyrotechnics shoot from the stage as he almost reaches the base of the aisle before he climbs the stairs and stands on the apron. He pauses there a moment as a single spotlight shines down on DGX cutting the pitch darkness of the arena and suddenly all four corners of the ring erupt in fire pyrotechnics. DGX walks towards the announce table with a conceited smirk on his face, placing on a head set as his music shuts off.
Matt Steel: Hey, D.
DGX: ‘Sup.
With the lights dimmed the familiar bells of “Going The Distance” by Bill Conti echo throughout the arena.
Matthew Werner: This would of course be the first appearance by EBR since his downright disgusting actions last week. And don’t even try to justify those.
Matt Steel: Don’t put things in my mouth. Which oddly enough is what you say on a night-to-night basis.
Matthew Werner: That’s great.
DGX: He’s implying that you engage in homosexual activities.
Matthew Werner: Already knew that but thank you DGX.
Puff Daddy’s verse begins as the camera stays fixated on the stage, picking up the sounds, the boos and murmurs, which resonate from the crowd. It takes fifty seconds and a more aggressive beat before EBR finally appears, the distinctive voice of the Notorious BIG behind him.
DGX: There’s my bro.
Matthew Werner: So I take it I have two people who calling a match with clear biasness?
Matt Steel: As opposed to your normal objectivity, right?
Matthew Werner: Actually, yeah … don’t really know what your angle was.
Matt Steel: But I know what angle you were in last night. That would of course be doggie.
Matthew Werner: … Really?
DGX: Again, homosexual activity.
Matthew Werner: Unbelievable.
EBR descends down the ramp, his sweat shirt hood over his head as his eyes stay focused on the ring. Loosening up he briefly jogs on the spot and cranks his neck, climbing the ring steps before entering the ring through the second and third rope. “Victory” begins to fade out as the lighting resumes to normal and EBR removes his sweatshirt.
Matthew Werner: So D, I take it you’re out here to scout your upcoming opponent at Survival of the Fittest?
DGX: Not particularly. E just asked me to be out here.
Matthew Werner: What? He’s gonna try break Thunder’s knee cap after the match and wants you to prevent any of Thunder’s friends from coming in to the ring and stopping it?
DGX: History would point to that, yeah. But you’re forgetting one important thing, Matt.
Matthew Werner: And what’s that?
DGX: Thunder doesn’t have any friends.
"Cult of Personality" by Living Colour begins to play. As the cash register sound ends and the music begins, Thunder walks towards the ring.
Matthew Werner: And of course, our World Heavyweight Champion.
Matt Steel: Your opinion, D?
DGX: In a month he’s going to be called a former World Heavyweight Champion.
He reaches the apron and climbs the turnbuckle, taunting the fans. Until he’s hit from behind with a barrage of EBR forearms to the kidneys, which after the fifth or so hit knocks him off and down to the canvas.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Matthew Werner: Don’t let EBR’s past actions involving Vanessa and Wayne McGurk lead you to forget. He still has several issues with Thunder.
DGX: In fairness, it’s mostly one big issue.
Matthew Werner: Thanks, D. Really contributing to this broadcast.
DGX: You have trouble accepting any type of criticism. You should work on improving that.
Matt Steel: How elegantly put.
With Thunder on the canvas EBR mounts him, firing away with several right and left punches to his skull. Thunder throws up his hands in an attempt to block them but this effort generally goes unrewarded until he’s able to escape out of the ring, to boos from the crowd. He begins to walk around the ring apron, only for EBR to slide out of the ring in pursuit. But either playing possum or just by luck Thunder’s able to burst out of the way of a tackling EBR who goes shoulder first in to the guardrail.
Matthew Werner: D, you know EBR. Can you explain why since he’s returned it seems EBR has … simplified his offense, to paraphrase?
DGX: I don’t know anything about that. All I know is that EBR wins matches. Why does it matter?
Matt Steel: This isn’t your best moment, Matthew.
Matthew Werner: Perhaps I’m leaving myself open and exposed.
DGX: You had to have known a homosexual joke could follow that immediately after saying it.
Matthew Werner: It was in the back of my mind, yeah.
With EBR clutching at his back Thunder paces back several steps. He runs towards him and sets off his knee, looking for a Shining Wizard. EBR shoots his head back causing Thunder to get nothing but air. As soon as Thunder lands on his feet he’s taken down with a Chop Block by a diving EBR.
Matthew Werner: That brings up memories of last week …
DGX: Might as well keep using it until someone can stop it.
EBR rolls the temporarily injured Thunder back into the ring, but not before bouncing his head off the ring apron. EBR slides under the bottom rope, diving at Thunder with a sloppy elbow to the face. He brings the Heavyweight Champion up to his feet and attempts to Irish Whip him into the ropes but Thunder’s hobbled leg prevents that from happening as he’s stopped in his tracks, clutching at his knee. EBR dashes to the ropes in front of him and on the rebound performs a Running Shoulder to his face.
Matt Steel: This is like white-on-white crime.
On his feet EBR looks at the downed Thunder with a snarl on his face before briefly stomping on his body. He slowly drags Thunder up by his hair but the resilient Heavyweight Champion swipes EBR’s arms way before driving him into the canvas with an Ace Crusher!
Matthew Werner: EBR never saw that coming!
Matt Steel: Which would explain why he’s now on the mat. Mmhmm.
DGX: You guys have very comfortable chairs. Where’d they get these?
Matthew Werner: Why would we possibly know?
DGX: Just asking … take it easy …
The Heavyweight Champion slowly brings himself up, testing out his leg which by now is beginning to recover. He looks to the outside and smirks in DGX’s direction.
DGX: … The hell?
Matthew Werner: Thunder letting you know that’s ready for you at Survival of the Fittest, I suppose.
DGX: Who does he think he is? Screw this.
DGX takes of his head set and attempts to enter the ring as Thunder backs away from the ropes. The referee immediately intervenes, sliding out of the ring and holding DGX back as he shouts obscenities at Thunder. After successfully getting him back the referee points towards the curtains.
Referee: You’re outta here!
The crowd cheers as DGX shakes his head and smirks before shrugging and attempting to walk to the back.
Matthew Werner: DGX has just been ejected!
Matt Steel: Surprisingly don’t see that very often.
With the referee on the ring apron and Thunder watching everything that went down he condescendingly waves at DGX, until he’s hit in the back of the head with the George Atkinson Lariat! The momentum sends Thunder into the ring ropes, knocking the referee off the apron and onto the mats below.
Matt Steel: … And that’s why you don’t eject people. Keep notes, refs.
EBR roughly drags Thunder up and throws him onto his shoulders, executing The S.O.S on the Heavyweight Champion! He briefly surveys the ring and ringside area, and after seeing the referee lying on the on the mats turns his attention towards DGX, yelling at him from the ring as DGX turns around in acknowledgement.
Matthew Werner: EBR must realize that it was because of DGX the opportunity to win this match is currently lost.
EBR continues to shout obscenities towards DGX, the live feed picking up DGX replying “You asked me to be here!”. Several moments of this continue until DGX throws his hands in annoyance and exits up the ramp, EBR continuing to yell.
Matt Steel: Far be it from me to try and tell someone how to do their job, though that is my job, but you’d think with his history with Thunder EBR would just use this an opportunity to really settle this.
Matthew Werner: These days EBR doesn’t really strike me as someone who follows the book.
Matt Steel: Which was exactly the point I was trying to make.
It’s not until DGX is through the curtains that EBR stops yelling, and it’s at that exact moment Thunder rolls EBR up in a School-Boy pin. It’s also at that exact moment the referee has regained his senses and has re-entered the ring.
… 1 …
… 2 ….
…3 ….
Matt Steel: Well that was un-rewarding resolution.
The referee raises Thunder’s hand, who’s still on the mat as EBR quickly gets to his feet, a look of disgust on his face. He’s quick to kick Thunder square in the head.
Matthew Werner: Great. There’s EBR doing what EBR does.
Matt Steel: Makes sense when you say it like that.
The referee attempts to stop this but is only pushed to the side. EBR continues to lay in to the downed Thunder with a combination of stomps and punches, whichever he believes to do the trick, until a murmur resonates through the crowd.
Matt Steel: What the?
Matthew Werner: It’s McGurk!
The noise grabs EBR’s attention as Wayne McGurk slides into the ring, quickly diving at EBR and taking him down with a spear before laying in to him with several right hands!
Matthew Werner: Wayne McGurk is here and he’s mad as hell! And he’s not gonna take it anymore!
Wisely Thunder rolls out of the ring, collecting his Heavyweight title and exiting to the back as McGurk continues to pound on EBR. Several referees and officials run down the ramp and enter the ring, all attempting to get McGurk and EBR separated. They succeed in doing so.
Matthew Werner: Paybacks a bitch, EBR!
Matt Steel: You’re giddy as a school girl. It’s adorable.
With half holding back EBR and half holding back McGurk both men are in separate corners of the ring. EBR collectively calms himself down as the officials loosen their hold on him, which prompts EBR to run across the ring and attempt to sucker punch McGurk, only getting him slightly. Immediately EBR is grabbed as McGurk is pushed harder into the corner to stop any retaliation. EBR is led, or forced, out of the ring and up the ramp.
Matthew Werner: If we had any doubts whatsoever McGurk and EBR aren’t done.
Matt Steel: I don’t think many people had any doubts, Matty.
Suddenly, McGurk breaks free of several people’s grip and runs towards the ropes, flying over with a Suicide Dive on to EBR and several officials and referees.
Matthew Werner: All hell is breaking loose!
Matt Steel: Definitely not over.
McGurk positions on top of EBR and connects with more jabs to the face as all the officials put their attention on getting him off. After a few moments they’re successful, and before EBR can respond he’s grabbed and again led up the ramp, this time much quicker. The WFWF logo flashes on the screen as it begins to fade, focusing on McGurk and EBR yelling at one another while multiple feet apart.
