OK here's the thing. I haven't watched an entire episode of iMPACT since Johnny Devine left the company... But note that this is not a Bash TNA thread... in fact it is more of a my compliments on TNA
Now I haven't watched Victory Road but I heard it contained one of the worst Professional Wrestling matches ever.... I can't remember names wasn't it like Jenna Vs Sharmell? With press like that it's really hard to get into TNA.
However I find myself more and more capable of watching it in short bursts. I don't think I could stomach watching a full iMPACT, not yet anyways. However picking and choosing vids on Youtube, there are some things that they are doing right and they are beginning to amass a talent roster that I care about again.
I mean you first off have the addition of Taz whom everyone predicted would be associated with Joe in some way shape or form. Taz is in the ring cutting a very convincing promo and right away he has me interested on where this mentor/protege relationship is going but I can definitely see it being a choice for Joe between MEM and Taz...
Next up there is the news that Elijah Burke has signed with the company. Now as of right now it is just a rumor but if it is in fact 100% true that the Paragon of Virtue is going to be in TNA then I must say I may up my viewership to at least casual.
Now see I have always thought TNA had a very rich talent roster that is just overshadowed by the older WWE washouts. However it is now becoming quite apparent that the WWE washouts are setting up a nice back drop for the younger TNA talent. Granted there may not be many people actually beating the MEM but regardless of that much these younger stars are in fact getting main stream exposure. People tune in and see Scott Steiner, they're gonna be like "Oh hey I remember him. Who's that guy he's facing" and he just so happens to be facing I dunno... Alex Shelley. Well now there are the older fans who are going to stay tuned in to watch Scott Steiner as sort of a throw back but all the while seeing that Alex Shelley is capable of hanging tough. Next week they may tune in again to see any other nostalgic wrestlers and boom, there's Kevin Nash. A long with Alex Shelley in another match on the card. It just gets people interested. It's smart and it's going to take a long time. The Grand Canyon didn't form overnight.
Now I am never really going to call myself a TNA fan ever again but I may start watching with this new influx of WWE talent I actually care about.
