I hear a lot of people complaining about how TNA just picks up released or former WWE stars. I am not sure I understand this though. There are some instances where I see this as being an issue (like when the wrestler was fired for something like being a bad worker or something like that), but if a guy is good and WWE has no use for them anymore (Umaga, Kennedy, Burke, Taz [in a different capacity], Richards, Lashley, Morgan, etc, etc, etc) why shouldn't TNA pick them up?
Alex Rodriguez started his MLB career in Seattle. Four years later, did the Rangers get a hard time because they signed him (other than the fact that they paid him too much) even though he was brought up in the Seattle system? Then when he left the Rangers and the Yankees picked him up, the Yankees didn't get any heat for signing him, either.
He was an established star, made by some other organization, and the other teams were glad to have him.
Why should TNA get heat for picking up already established stars? Especially if they have been released, and they are talent sitting on the sideline just waiting to work. TNA is ALSO in the process of creating their own stars, like Shelley, Styles, Sabin, Daniels, Abyss, etc., but I see absolutely nothing wrong with them picking up guys that are good that are from other places. They shouldn't feel the least bit ashamed of doing that. It's a good business move. And there are a lot of fans behind each and every one of those guys that will follow them wherever they go. There are a lot of people on this board that would switch to TNA of a handful of mid-card/lower card guys from WWE moved to TNA.
What is the big deal?

I don't have a problem with it...
But when the company begins to resemble WWE junior, it gets a little tiring.

It really depends on who it is to me. Like when they brought in Trevor Murdoch, I wasn't so happy about that because I feel like they only brought him in because he was WWE for a while. I don't mind them signing guys who are GOOD and will help the company. Its just that guys like MCMG only getting on TV because they are holding signs in the crowd saying they still have jobs is kind of troubling to me, I don't really think TNA needs to sign anyone else (once they bring in Ken Anderson).

I don't have a problem with TNA signing these guys, but I have a problem when they automatically go to the main event, pushing down the guys TNA made a few years ago. It's just TNA is focusing way too much on the former WWE wrestlers and not their own.

The problem isn't when they sign released WWE stars. The problem is when they keep signing released WWE stars who are years past their primes and have them continue to hold down the younger, more talented guys. That's what killed WCW.

I cringe whenever someone uses the trading of pro sports players to advocate a pro wrestling company basing its entire product on wrestlers they didn't build. Teams within a major sports league are competition based. The pro wrestling industry is entertainment based.
The goal of a sports team is to obtain the best players. The goal of a pro wrestling company is to present an entertaining product in the most marketable, profitable way. TNA isn't a team. They shouldn't grab any and every free agent because they have "WWE" on their resume. It doesn't translate to marketability or profit, and their status (despite on paper being a WWE brand on roids) proves it.
TNA is in the process of creating Shelley, Styles, Sabin, Daniels, and Abyss? They've been in the same respective positions on the card for years... half have taken a step back in that time, so don't kid yourself. If CM Punk was made a WWE star in a couple years, these guys could've been built into solid main eventers two or three times over, lmao.
Yes, yes TNA should feel ashamed.

Nah, the AOL Time Warner merger killed WCW. If you actually bothered to watch WCW before their death, they had the right idea, with Hogan gone and Nash out of the main event, things were looking up right before their untimely demise.

I don't mind it as long as they're not wasting space (Kip James, BG James, Rhino, etc).

I'm all for bringing in the big names but just make sure it's people that's going to be beneficial to the company.
TNA just seems way to crowded with "big names' that really have nothing to offer anymore. And that causes the younger stars and people that can really shine to take a back seat.

Instead of bringing in WWE guys, why dont they continue to keep the TNA original guys fresh. What I liked about TNA is when they started, it was a time where there wasn't a second company and no competition for the writers. And everyone was crying for a new company to compete with Vince. Then when TNA first came on with they're Wednesday PPV's. It was real RAW. I really liked how I didn't have to watch WWE on TV and still get my wrestling fix. FAST FORWARD TNA is climbing in the ratings and a lot of its original talent are gone or not being pushed. And they continue to bring in old WWE guys that doesn't work like they used too. So instead of running around hoping they bring in Murdoch or Kendrick or Snitsky. Lets pay attention at what matters. Fresh ideas and storylines.

I think the issue was more that time period when they were signing tons of mid card guys and immediately pushing to the main event, forsaking the talent that bsted their butts to get TNA to where it was.
I have no problem with them signing the guys personally though. They need the work, and TNA could use whatever talent they could get.
