CM, don't be too worried about the playcalling. Most teams don't break out their 'real' offenses in the preseason. True. I guess I looked at that game, like others did, as a chance for 1 QB IE Sanchez to claim the #1 spot. And then it seemed like the Jets were being over protective with him. The Truth is Sanchez STUNK tonight. I mean STUNK. He was rattled and at times had the deer in the headlights look. He stared down receivers and it cost him. Once it got returned for a TD and the other....Ray Lewis SHOULD have returned it for a TD. He had two fantastic throws. First was the 29 yarder to Smith, which was flagged for off. interference and the second was the TD throw to Leon. He stopped, planted his feet and zipped the pass in. Otherwise, I was NOT happy with his performance tonight. Worse yet, the play calling was awful. It seemed like the Jets were gonna find out what they have in Sanchez and then after the INT......they go afraid. Like they wanted to protect him and not let him fail. He's a rookie. They will fail. They need to learn and what better place and time than a preseason game against Baltimore in Baltimore. I really thought Schottenheimer got way too conservative and fearful for his QB. I dont think the Jets learned anything, outside that Sanchez is a rookie and will make mistakes. Also, Rex "Swaggaliscious" Ryan really baffled me when he brought Clemens in to close the first half. Sanchez just threw a TD and had some confidence. Instead of letting Mark finish out the last 2 mins and change and show a hurry up........he put Clemens in. Dont get me wrong.....I want Sanchez to start.....but this was a sign that Ryan saw what he needed too and was ready to name Sanchez the starter. I think he needs to earn it and we havent seen enough from him. On a side note......Leon Washington continues to get better and better. The Oline was missing 2 starters, including Woody and they still opened up holes for he and Jones. Really like the running game. I agree.. They had every intention of feeding that dirty Sanchez to the dogs and see if he came up breathing.. Rex Ryan I think is more on this "I found another Flacco/Ryan type quarterback". Instead of "Let's develop him". I mean You talk about that IT factor with Campbell.. Mark has that IT factor.. He looks like (when comfortable) that he could be one of the better QBs in the league one day.. He has a swagger about him.. He's a leader.. He needs time tho.. Which in all honesty isn't totally fair to Dirty.. It was like a shot in the dark last year with those two rookie QBs being nothing less than stellar... We won't see rookie quarterbacks performer like Flacco and Ryan for a while.. I totally agree that Sanchez has the IT factor. I saw IT during the combine and the draft. Here was a QB that went out and participated in every combine drill. He says the right things and keeps his confidence up. He doesnt have outrageous expectatctions, but still remains goal oriented.

Its official.....Sanchez will start for the Jets this season. Rex Ryan not happy that Jay Glazer leaked this before he could announce it.
SC surely made a big deal out of this. Not sure why. I enjoyed it. But didnt think they needed to devote half the show to it.
Shaun Hill is hurt and will not be able to play this week and neither will Alex Smith for the 49ers. Maybe Jeff George will find a team to sign him.

Here's to hoping someone hacks the Jet's scoreboard and puts up the coke bottle glasses picture for Sanchez' first start.

I'm glad the Jets named Sanchez as the starter. While the Baltimore game wasn't that good the Jets didn't have a full Oline so its understandable he was getting hurried. I don't blame Ryan for taking him out after the fumble since he said he got hurt a little. I think Klemens really blew any shot when he threw that INT. I am glad he is not starting he does not look like a face of the franchise or a leader of a franchise.

Was anybody really surprised they named him starter? I sure as hell wasn't.

Cowboys shouldn't have to raise their monsterous scoreboard. The League approved it, so I don't want to hear them complaining about it.

So when the Cowboys punter hits it and it costs the Cowboys the game.......its cool? It's actually great clock management. If you hit the scoreboard, you have to replay the down, but the clock keeps ticking the entire time. Have a 4th down in a tight game, but you're ahead by a field goal? Don't want to give the ball to a really good QB and let him drive on you in the minute left in the game? Just keep punting and hitting the score board until time expires.

I would laugh my ass off if the cowboys punter hits the huge screen and it falls dor the top of the stadium.
I dont like that rookie qbs start, i mean matt ryan and Joe Flacco were freaks of nature, Look at most other qbs that there career gets ruined because they started their first year. Look at Alex Smith, Jamarcus Russel, Matt Leinart, Kyle Boller, rex grossman, David Carr, Joey Harrington etc...... They all got rushed into the starter spot, and now they are backups and Free agents(with the exception of Russel)

If I remember correctly I believe he threw just as many interceptions as touchdowns, and really didn't throw for that many yards. He was a good game manager I suppose like some QBs in the league though.

They are going to make the rule that the clock stops when it hits the scoreboard.

Yea I could be wrong, I didn't do any research I just remember Flacco's stats really weren't that impressive.
