i know this is widely considered one of the worst years in any wrestling organization, but the 2 matches i have seen lately were entertaining and got me interested. the first match being the ladder match from starrcade 2000 which most on here have probably seen. i felt that match to be highly entertaining and i like the production of that event for some reason. the other match was the triple cage match thing which i believe kevin nash won but i cant remember. that match was a bit confusing but still fun to watch.
what i am asking here is to discuss what you guys all thought of these two matches and some of your favorite or least favorite moments from wcw this year.

I originally liked the Triple Cage Match and enjoy watching it but it was a bit of a clusterf*ck to be honest. Liked the ladder match from Starrcade but still think there are better matches out there from 2000 but certainly not a huge number of them. I actually enjoyed seeing Sid as champion during this year for a brief period of time. Idk, I guess that was when I started getting big into WWF at that time cause tbh it seems like I can't remember a whole lot from WCW in 2000 or maybe it was just that bad? Idk

WCW 4 Life. Like I said, the final years of WCW were silly at times, but still better than anything WWE has done in recent years.

modern WWE is a hell of a lot worse than WCW ever got. sure the later days of WCW weren't great, but i stil found it entertaining. current WWE just bores the crap outta me.

Was that the one that 3 Count won together? I saw it on the Ladder match DVD, awesome ladder match in my opinion.

Hogan's ego is way too big, seeing him win the undisputed title in 2002 was too much.

That's the year Lance Storm and Mike Awesome came over from ECW. I thought Team Canada was pretty fun when it had Storm, Elix Skipper, etc. And even though it was really out of left field, the heel turn of Hacksaw Jim Duggan when he shaved off his beard and joined Team Canada was definitely memorable. IN THE YEAR TWO THOUUUSSSAAAAAANNNDDDDD!!!! "The future, Conan?"

really all i remember about wcw in 2000 was the bash at the beach incident where hogan didn't want to lose to jarrett then jarrett laid down for hogan that was the day i lost all respect for hulk hogan I believe that story is very much about a two way street. Don't get me wrong, not wanting to lose was very 'Hoganish' at the time, but really believe that he would've had no problem doing the job to a more legitamate contender. Russo had gassed Jarret up to be this big top guy to the point where Jarret actually believed it and thought that he'd garnered the popularity to be at the top of a national promotion, all of which was total bullsh**. Jarret was never recieved by fans as anyomore than a midcarder who smashed guitars ovder people's heads. Hogan had no qualms about dropping the belt to the likes of Sting, Flair, or Goldberg. It was a selfish move on his part, but just as selfish, ignorant and downright foolish on Russo and Jarret's. Where's the proof? Look at the first three to four years of TNA. Who spent it at the top? and Who was running it? And who was booking? Exactly. I can't be on top so I'll start my own show and put my self over. That was the mentality.

Go back and watch any WCW 2000 event...Fall Brawl for example. That card had more entertaining fights than WWE has had since....at least 2004.....

I loved Steiner as champion. He was awesome back then.

Ugh. WCW in 2000 redefined the world awful. Even the WWE's worst ideas can't compare to what WCW did to the legacy of their World title that year. The title was vacant on 6 different occasions, awarded to people without matches 2 or 3 times, held by two non-wrestlers (Russo & Arquette) and Sid. I can't even fathom the stupidity of this.
The tag titles changed at the drop of a hat that year, often to low-level talent like David Flair, Shawn Stasiak, and Johnny the Bull. Oklahoma battled Madusa for the Cruiserweight belt. Ernest Miller stopped a WCW title match because Goldberg was beating Booker T too badly, but Miller inexplicably couldn't award the belt to Goldberg. There were horrible angles involving Mancow and Beetlejuice (this one may have been from '99) and terrible writing at every turn.
Other than Booker T.'s push as champ, which was long overdue, 2000 had no redeeming value. It makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

God I HATED WCW during that era. Living in England, I didnt get to watch their PPV's. So I watched Nitro for the build up to Hogan vs Jarrett for the World Title.. Then the next week Booker T comes out as the new World Champion. So Confusing. Ive got a episode of Nitro, on tape, where they showed a Sting Promo video that was 2 years out of date and didnt fit his current gimmick at the time. The Promo also made little sence. Does anyone remember that awfully stupid and slightly racist storyline involving 'The New and Improved Harlem Heat' vs Booker T? Where they banned Booker from using the letter T in his name? So for months he was simply called 'Booker'? They also banned his attire, and he was running around with a bloke like woman (who Ahmed Johnson hilariously called a Fish) called Midnight? And her gimmick was to strike at midnight... usually at roughly 9.45pm? How Bad.

I went to a poorly attended house show where she substitued for Booker against Stevie Ray. I forget why Booker didn't wrestle but he did save Midnight at the end of the match. I still don't understand what WCW hoped to accomplish for anyone involved in that scenario.
