The more I watch the guy I can't help but wonder if he'll eventually make his way to MMA if for whatever reason his WWE career doesn't pan out. Given his legit athletic background, how well do you think he would fare? He's 6'6 and around 260, plus still young enough to make the transition. I read threads on other places about "What wrestler would you wanna see in MMA??" and there are always answers of Triple H & Cena which I think are ridiculous but I think Swagger could be one that could have some decent fights. Anyone else?

I doubt the guy is really 260, but I guess he'd do well. It's common knowledge that wrestlers seem to transition to MMA better than boxers or kickboxers.

I doubt the guy is really 260 i disagree, the guys tall and thick i think he could be liek 245- 260, and ya swagger mite do well in MMA.... Personally id love to see like Samoa Joe or Kurt angle in MMA, the fact that theyd prolly do really well makes me wanna see em. ppl liek cena and triple H are jus mass and dont seem em doing much...

Being a great amateur wrestler is a good place to start in MMA.
From that point on, a lot would depend on his chin or his ability to take a punch, because that's something you can't determine from a guy's wrestling success and it's something you can't necessarily learn. Sometimes, a guy just has a glass jaw and there's nothing he can do about it.
Swagger would have as good a shot as any decent college wrestler though, I guess.

Like any successful college wrestling, he'd at least fairly well. But he's have to work hard to gain any noteriety or MMA success

Since he is a good amateur wrestler already he could do well in UFC quite like Lesnar did!
But he would be to work alot on his striking and taking strikes!

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Kurt Angle if younger would do quite well in mma with his wrestling pedigree. He's beaten Couture in Amature matches.

I can't really remember where I heard it from. But I know it happened at some point in their amature wrestling careers.

sure from this perspective it's possible for him to have success, but can he take a punch? it's hard to predict.
