Whats up fellow customizers. I've viewed this board many times and seen all the amazing work that alot of you do. It really is quite awesome seeing all the creations that other people come up with.
I'm not the greatest artist in the world, so I don't do much painting and such...However I've just started to get my hands dirty in some real customizing part switches for my Jakks figures.
I started off with just simple headswitches, then moved on to lower arms & legs. Just recently I did my first torso swap (successfully on my first try, Thanks Warheart) and so I thought I would create a thread to keep going with my various customs & fix-ups on figures.
Enough babble...here's what I've been up to...
This is my "1992 WWF" Ric Flair...with a new twist. A WCW Championship belt hand-painted by my good buddy and customizing champion The Warheart! Honestly, the belt is a thing of beauty. Perfectly done, neatly painted & with a real old school look to it. I couldn't be happier and I'd recommend anyone who would like a belt painted professionally to speak to the man himself
Vladimir Kozlov-
Since we got the final lineups & pics from Jakks, they obviously weren't going to be making a Kozlov in his new attire, so I took it upon myself to create one.
If Ralph makes the robe for him I might pick that up as well.
Ezekiel Jackson-
Same as Kozlov, I knew Jakks wouldn't be making a version of him with his current look. I was able to track down a Zeke figure and made this:
David Hart Smith-
I was hoping Jakks would have made one in the last AD set with Kidd...but alas no. So I took matters into my own hands
Its not 100% complete just yet. I plan to add some trunk detail and change his hands to white wrist tape.
Dolph Ziggler-
Knew we'd never get a proper Jakks figure of him, so I pieced together this one.
I'm planning to paint his hair lighter, adding more black to his boots & adding a vest for "entrance" look
Carlito-
This was a tag team effort with the help of my good friend Warheart. He sculpted & painted the goatee and sent me the full upper body. I wanted a Carlito reflecting his newer look
It's not 100% done yet. I have to paint over the "Mexicool" logo on the back of his pants and add some color to his boots. Will be doing that soon.
Lance Cade-
This was a simple custom I did a long time ago. Figured I'd show it
Again, I'm no professional but I get enjoyment out of making "my own" figures and thats what its all about right??
Now onto some fix-ups...
These are all various little fix-ups I've done to some figures. Nothing major...mostly headswaps, but I feel they've improved on some otherwise mediocre figures.
"Royal Rumble 1992" Ric Flair-
This is my favorite fix-up. Randomly got the IE Flair robe with a lot of TTLs I won about a year ago on Ebay. Put a CS head on the RR 34.5 Flair body and BAM! There's your 1992 WWF Ric Flair
Adrenaline 28 CM Punk-
Switched the head to the DA head.
Wrestlemania 24 Mr. McMahon-
Switched the head to a DA head for a more "evil" vince
Ruthless Aggression 34 Chris Jericho-
Found the Backlash TTL figure at a closing KB and popped the head onto this for a more accurate returning Jericho
Ring Rage 24.5 Triple H-
Switched to the DA head for a better DX street fight look
Adrenaline 32 The Miz-
Added the sleeveless shirt & white fedora for a more complete street gear Miz
PPV12 Gregory Helms-
Switched the head to the DA head & added a sleeveless trench for entrance look
Wrestlemania 24 Randy Orton-
Switched his hands to 2 open hands to be able to make him do his trademark pose.
William Regal-
Threw the DA Regal head on a suited body and we have a nice "Commissioner" Regal
Undertaker-
Popped the new style head onto an entrance gear body, just for fun.
That's it! (for now)
Comments always appreciated
and thanks for looking
