PSP Go?

To be honest, I'm actually considering getting one of these at some point.
For me, I've had my PSP for about year, and to be honest I haven't played it as much as I would like because when I find myself in a situation where I'm most likely to play it, I don't have it because I don't like the way it fits in my pockets. Despite being the slim, I still feel it a bit bulky to lug in my pocket most of the time. I would prefer something like the Go because of the increased portability.
Another benefit, to me at least, is the fact that all of your games are stored on the system itself. No more being stuck with just one game or movie unless you feel like finding a way to cart around a bunch of UMDs.
Like I said, I'm not going to be in line on launch day to get one, but I'm seriously considering one at some point. I'll probably just kinda wait it out to see how the downloading and availability of games goes for others at the start.

ZT, why not look for somewhere like Gamestop or something that offers a good trade in for the previous model PSP for the Go? Especially if you've got a bunch of UMDs, you could probably swap almost 1-1 with not much cash out of pocket for it at Gamestop or a similar place

I want to kinda hold off on doing something like that right away though just in case Sony decides to get off of their asses and figure out a way that those of us with UMDs can claim digital versions.
I'm still trying to kinda assess what to do, because I would like to keep the library of games I have, but if I decide it isn't worth it then yeah, I'll trade 'em in at Gamestop.

I don't see how Sony can't pull it off, Hackers have been doing it for years now.

Well, that settles that question I guess. I'll probably take all my Games and such and trade them into Gamestop for a Go. I honestly haven't played half of them anyway for the reasons I said above, I never take my regular PSP anywhere because it doesn't fit well into my pocket.
Once I see how the store is updated I'll make my final decision. I want to see how much they put up on the store on release day, because right now there isn't a lot.

Ok, so if I were to walk into Gamestop and trade in all my regular PSP stuff towards a Go, here is what I would be trading in:
Silver PSP-3000 AC Adapter USB/Power Cable
UMD Games:
Fight Night Round 3 GTA: Vice City Stories Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops MLB 08: The Show Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX Tekken: Dark Resurrection Daxter Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 Smackdown vs. Raw 2009
UMD Movies: Family Guy Volume 2 (4-UMD Set) Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story Family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection Godzilla: Final Wars Monty Python and the Holy Grail Ren and Stimpy Volume 1 Spiderman Spiderman 3 Talladega Nights Walk Hard
Think I might be able to get decent enough trade-in value for all of that toward a Go?

PS. Buy an Ipod Touch.... I use it more for gaming than anything else. Plus Internet access, Music Player, great games, if you jailbreak it(not illegal) it opens up the possibilities of it even farther!

Plus Internet access, Music Player, great games, if you jailbreak it(not illegal) it opens up the possibilities of it even farther! I own an iPod Touch and a PSP, man, and I would never in a million years tell any one to get an iPod for the gaming. Let's be honest, iPod games suck. Sure, some of them are good... for an iPod game. I don't feel like Sonic translated well on the Touch, and most games I've downloaded are fun for 4 minutes then get lost in a sea of Apps. If you want games, get a PSP. 2000, 3000, Go, whichever you prefer. If you want all around entertainment, while the PSP has many of the same features, the iPod does it all better (besides games.)

Decided to go for it. Traded in all my PSP stuff in and got over $170 in credit for a Go preorder. Getting the white one. I'm probably going to trade in a few of my Xbox 360 and Wii games that are just gathering dust to help pay for more of it.

PSP Go is officially paid off. All through trade-ins. Even had about $17 extra to pay toward Smackdown vs. Raw 2010.
Can't wait for Thursday.

You should probably buy a carrying case for it too. I'd be willing to take that Dreamcast one off your hands to make room...
Seriously though, the PSP does have some pretty great games coming out.

I've been dying for Gran Turismo Mobile since day one of the systems release. Back in the day when the only information on it was that it was coming and they would photoshop an image onto the screen. Plus there's a new MGS, a Rock Band out now, a Ghostbusters game was just announced, Persona remake....I finally feel like it's now actually worth having around. And I have an original PSP carrying pouch, so screw off, Sean

The sole reason I'd buy another PSP is for PS1 games on the go. And Twisted Metal: Head On.
I wonder how this is going to effect places like Gamestop if no one can buy used games...
