PSP Go?

Not very I'd bet, since the PSP with a UMD drive is pretty cheap now and they're still going to produce those ones. I have 4 PSone games downloaded, Syphon Filter, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot, and Suikoden and would love to play any four of those on the go. Plus, if you REALLY wanted to, it's possible to play PSone disc games using remote play.
AND you're going to be able to transfer Blu-Ray movies to your PSP this November apparently.

I'm close to actually considering buying the PSP Go soon the only thing that really makes me not want to is not being able to play my old UMD's on it. Not that I have a lot of them but it still would be nice to be able to play them.

I still have one UMD game, and that's Daxter. I forgot to trade it int when I sold it. I also have 2 UMD movies. I have some Family Guy thing, and I got a free copy of Ghost In The Shell when I bought R.O.D. the OVA. Which is hilarious that they were just trying to firesale GitS UMDs 2 years ago.

I still live by the rule that if it doesn't have 2 thumbsticks, I don't want it.

I guess I just can't justify spending $50 less on a hand held system when I have it's big, better brother instead.

The PSP is a great partner with the PS3, and it's a better system when you have a PS3, but you're right. For fifty dollars more, you can get a really great console if you don't own one already. The price point is really ridiculous.

I might get one of these once the price lowers, because as zt said the current one is quite heavy and feels bulky in my pocket and just doesn't seem to be all that portable, however the new one is noticeably smaller and I read somewhere that it's 50%ish lighter then the current one and not too mention how much I like the new design the only thing that I'm concerned about is lack of games on PSN, maybe I wasn't looking properly but last time i checked there were only like 100 games on there but maybe they've beefed up the number since then.

After browsing the selection of games added to the PSN this morning, I am more than satisfied with my decision to get the Go, because there are plenty of games put up today to keep me occupied.

The store has been getting better and better, and today it became awesome. Plus, the NIS titles being on sale is awesome. Prinny for 10 bucks? I may not even own a PSP by the end of the day, but I'm buying that shit.

Size, Bluetooth, no UMD drive, and 16 gig internal memory (expandable with Micro Memorysticks). That's pretty much the only differences.

So, you buy the games online like WiiWare or something no actual tangable games?

Correct, you can only download games from PSN through either your PC, through the unit itself, or through your PS3 and transfer them to the PSP. Which is something you can do with all PSPs, not just the go. It's not just limited to PSP games either, you can also download PSone from the PSN store and play them on a PSP too.
Some retailers sell redeem vouchers for bigger games like Patapon 2 or Gran Turismo.

Hmm, sounds like an interesting concept. I have a PSP but to be honest, I never got any of the actual UMD's.... I just got it so I can do homebrew

Yeah, it's an interesting experiment. All the games I want are available for the most part on the store already, and the ones that I want that aren't out yet are all coming to PSN, so not having UMDs isn't so bad. I just don't know if we're at that point in gaming where a device like this will be accepted. People REALLY like actually owning something they paid 40 dollars for.

Yeah, it's hard to justify paying that much for something you can't physically have in your possession.

F This. I'm just going to stick to my modded FAT PSP which rules in all ways possible. 4 GB memory card is all I need. It's just Sony trying to get people to spend more money.

I gotta say that so far I like the Go a lot more than my slim. Since I'm actually able to fit it in my pocket now I take it wherever I go, something I wouldn't have been able to do with my slim due to the awkward fit in my pockets. As simple as it sounds, I got an oil change yesterday and it was nice to be able to just whip out my Go and play a couple of exhibition matches on Smackdown vs. Raw. I can tell already that I'm going to get a lot more use out of the Go than my slim. Glad I traded it in. I have 5, and I would be sad not to be able to play Hot Shots Golf and Wipeout anymore. Both Hot Shots titles and both Wipeout titles are on the PSN to download to the Go.
