Flash memory isn't related to the video format of flash. It's just internal memory NOT using a hard drive. They aren't changing the the systems abilities, what the PSP can do now, this PSP still does.
And nobody is really quite certain how Sony is going to support the store at this time. We don't know if it'll be day and date with all games, most games, or some games. And we don't know how well the back catalog will be supported either. Really, outside of the redesign, there isn't much advantage to the Go at the price point it's at.

The Go is going to bomb. - No self respecting retailer will stock a console that deals in online game purchasing.

It's going to flop.
Store's aren't too keen on stocking this, simply because there's not much money to be made off consoles compared to games, and since Sony's ditched the UMD drive and have chosen to download games off the PS Network, Store's aren't seeing the point in stocking them since Sony's going to gain majority of the profit compared to their other products. Not to mention aswell down here its retailing for $449.95, which is only $50 cheaper than the Playstation 3.
And we all know that the PSP Go is merely a downgrade then it is an upgrade, sure you've got Bluetooth, 16GB of Memory and a new design, but you can still download games onto the PSP 3000 and older models and have a bigger range of games to play with ( UMD Games ). I'm not really keen on this whole thing, maybe if Sony dropped the price to around $200-ish than It would rake up big, but making it $150 dearer than the current PSP model is ridiculous.

I mean, I didn't knew where he lived. I live in Mexico and the price hasn't still dropped here yet, it's still $400 for an 80 GB fat PS3, so how would I know if the price has dropped where he lives? If it didn't the point wouldn't be the same.

Stores wont really lose money, they sell PSN cards. People would buy the PSN cards, making money off of the PSPgo

I'd love to see someone compare the amount of money a retailer would make by selling PSN cards vs PSP Games.
Also, considering that you can purchase those points ON the PSP itself, don't you think people would just do it all at the same time?
Sure, they would sell some, but not nearly enough to justify selling them over actual games.

I've had my PSP for quite a while now, and I don't justify seeing myself ever going to the Go unless my PSP goes the way of the dinosaur. I've had a case mod kit for it that will change the look of it to a bad ass red, and never even decided to swap that out yet.
I just think that there really is no reason to go to the Go (<WTF?) unless you perfer the new design. My only complaint is the sound levels. They sound excellent on PSOne and PSP games, but on movies it absolutely sucks.

I see. You should have been a little more cohesive on your point. And Sean's right, the amount of money retailers make off of gift cards for other companies is pennies compared to MSRP for games.

I'm more interested in the battery life than anything. My PSP Slim lasts about 3-4 hours tops. My DS lasts 8-9 hours easily.

The rumor has it, although by all appearances it should be better with a missing UMD drive and flash memory as opposed to a hard drive, it actually has the same battery life as the current PSPs.
