You have got to love Dana White..he promised Henderson the title shot...but then Marquardt destroyed Maia so White said Nate deserved the title shot...
..now Vitor went through Franklin with ease and he says this
"The question that I had coming into this fight was, ‘What Vitor were we gonna see? The explosive Vitor that wants to get somebody hurt, who goes right after them, or the Vitor that lays back and couldn’t pull the trigger? He pulled the trigger tonight, and as soon as he hurt [Franklin], he went right in for the kill. Vitor is a 185-pound fighter, that’s his weight division. To be honest with you, the way that the last two fights happened with Marquardt and Henderson against Anderson Silva, I think it would be better to see them fight each other, and the winner of that become the next contender. I think Vitor’s ready. I think Vitor’s ready to fight Anderson Silva.”
honestly I think the MW division is one of the more exciting divisions at the moment and all three guys have shown how hungry they are to be king of their division. You have three fighters who have all KO'd their last opponents. Each KO more devastating than the previous. I have said that I think it makes tons more sense to have Henderson vs. Marquardt to see who is the number 1 contender. I would rather see Vitor vs. Silva before the rematches anyways.

I don't know. I think Henderson's KO was the best out of all of them.

I am a huge Henderson fan and of course I think he could give Silva the most trouble and should get the next title shot....
But I would rather see Belfort get Silva next. Henderson had a chance and got tapped. Give Silva a new challenge and see what happens. Belfort may just be the one that out hits Silva.

yeah I agree..I guess I meant that each KO was against a better fighter..
Franklin is better than Maia and Maia is better than Bisping..

Im just going to have to say NO to this...I think that Vitor wouldnt be much of a challenge for Silva either..you cant put pure sluggers in there against him..we saw what happens with Griffen if you put a one dimensional fighter against him.
I think the only one in the UFC right now that could challenge him would be a catchweight fight with GSP. he the only other fighter that is great at every aspect of MMA.

I really want to see Hendo fight Silva, however I think Vitor would be the better fight overall. Vitor is hell of a boxer and fast hands. To say he is one dimensional is pure ignorance though. Vitor is a Black belt in Jui Jitsu and has a great ground game. He just doesn't bring a lot of his fights to the ground, same as Anderson Silva.
Overall though I'd still like to see Hendo get his shot. If he can get Silva on the ground again Silva might be done for.

I totally agree with Dana, I would take Silva vs Belfort before either of the rematches because its new and fresh and we haven't seen Belfort fight Silva. I really think Belfort could catch Silva and knock him out but technique and skill wise I still think Silva is second to none. It would have to be a lucky punch in any of their (Nate, Hendo or Vitor) fights against Silva to take the title.
As for Nate vs Hendo, I think that is a smart fight to put on. They both are dying for a rematch and they both can't have it. What better way to resolve it then to have them fight for the number one spot and have Belfort take on Silva in the mean time. The only thing is, if Belfort somehow won, I'm sure Belfort vs Hendo or Nate with Belfort being champ would still be great fights.
Its a win win situation in my mind.

Didn't Hendo say if he doesn't get Silva next he's going to fight a top guy at 205? Anyway I would love to see Belfort vs Silva.

Hendo did say he wouldn't find Marquardt..that the only 185 fight that interests him right now is a fight with Silva...
..but his contract is up..he is a free-agent and I read somewhere that he would fight Marquardt if the money was right..

I'd still give the shot to Hendo. He's probably the only guy to actually dominate a portion of a fight against Silva, plus he's probably had the most impressive win out of the 3 in for the shot.

He said on Inside MMA that he would probably have to fight both Silva and Marquardt anyway, so he's open to a fight with Marquardt.

It would only make sense to put vitor up against anderson, before he gets a easy loss from a wrestler. Vitor has always been the same. You put him up against a wrestler, he will lose. He lost to henderson.. You take vitor down and he's pretty much lost his will to win. If you have seen his losses you would WTF!?! Here's how I predict the match would go down. Vitor will be unable to hit anderson. Anderson will counter, and dance around vitor for the first 3 rounds and gas him out. After the 3rd you will see it Vitors eyes "i can't get to this guy i quit". Anderson TKO's him well into the 4th round.

If Anderson will be able to avoid the punches in bunches of Vitor than I will be beyond impressed. I can't wait to see this fight.

Vitor has some of the fastest hands in MMA, as well as precision. I could see him getting a lucky streak like he did against Wandi and taking him out with a full on run against the fence.
Like I said previously though, I want to see Hendo fight Silva, but ultimately I just want to see somebody fight Silva soon.

Apparently Belfort vs. Silva is going to happen at UFC 108 in January.

Like I said previously though, I want to see Hendo fight Silva, but ultimately I just want to see somebody fight Silva soon. After watching Vitor for his past few fights, he seems to be really intent on becoming a counter fighter. At 103 he lured franklin him, and when he saw his opening he caught him and finished him. We haven't seen that Vitor who would charge at people like a maniac for a long time, I doubt he would do that to one of the best counter fighters. I honestly don't see how Vitor would win. The only thing vitor has going into this fight is "anything can happen."
