^ Beth Phoenix "I would say EASILY one of the gems of these 2-Packs. The headscan is already better than Jakks' and the overall body mold is great. She has the muscles in the arms, that Jakks also gave her... however, the lower legs are bigger, as they should be. Beth has some strong thighs and Mattel has captured it very well with this figure. The attire choice and painting are also great. No detail missing with her attire ( like Jakks missed ) and the glossy paint ( which Jakks also missed ). The shiny feel to her attire adds that much more to the figure and truly makes her one of the gems. It also seems she has the articulation in the legs, much like the DA figures do... which would be great, for us that play with the figures. As we'd then be able to perform he finisher ( whatever it's called, haha )." ----------------------------- Basically everthing he said. Her figure is so good. I know the scale is going to be a lot different but for the divas I don't think it will be that big of a difference. That makes me happy since Beth looks amazing and I really hope they do that with all of the divas. Natalya can actually have a figure that isn't anorexic! I really want Gail so I hope they make her. As for most of the figs they are good but I just don't like the R3 scale. .

I don't really collect anymore anyways except for divas. Sooooo. As you said, the divas I think are pretty similar to Jakks scaled divas, so I'll continue collecting the divas from the Mattel line. I'm a happy camper : )

probs gonna casually coolect the basic, the WM and the 2 packs, but leaning towards the elite.
getting:
y2j/hbk steve austin (WM) cm punk, MVP, reyrey (elite) evan bourne (basic)
entrance are too expencive, flex ems just suck
BTW, a little disappointed about the lack of swagger and ziggler, will be collecting those 2

So I've had some time to think about these some more and I gotta say...I'm still not a fan. They look like a hybrid of Toybiz WCW figures and Jakks R3 figures to me. The knee pads and boots look terrible. The pads are way too long and the boots remind of the Toybiz WCW figures. They way that they kinda airbrush the skin looks really strange. The Flex Force figures look like generic Mexican knockoffs. I think Jakks did a better job with their weapons. I do give Mattel credit though for the MVP headband and necklaces. I think they have too many different lines that are too similar. I don't know, I'm just not digging these I agree 100%

I have to say I doubt I will buy these new mattels. They look kinda fake, they remind me of mid to late 90s wwe toys and like the shortly lived wcw toys.

Definitely improved overall. Mattel took these superstars from the cartoony look that Jakks provided and gave them something that looks realistic. A BIG problem I had was Jakks made ridiculous looking abs that looked anything but realistic. In the Jakks/Batista image it looked like he had a radiator on his stomach. Also notice Mattel improved the thighs. On all of the Jakks action figures the thighs looked fat and over sized. At least the definition to the thighs is proper with the Mattel action figures. At least we won't get any of that! A trademark of Jakks is either making a wrestler's head too big or too small for his or her body. That part was always annoying as hell. I also hope it will be easier to move these wrestlers' body parts than the Jakks action figures. While I was collecting the old school Tron Ready figures, which were very fun to play with, they came out with these R3 figures which was a pain in the ass to play with them or even move their arms and legs. Then a year later Jakks came out with the action figures they're currently releasing, which aren't all that flexible or fun to play with either. I hope Mattel improved the flexibility of the action figures. The only thing that disappoints me is the ring. It looks very similar to the Jakks spring ring, which was very small. And the turnbuckles are awful. I have to disagree with you. While jakks molds may have been cartoonish they were too exagerated. These however look straight up like a cartoon. They remind me of the way the molds and paint style look on the Street fighter toys.

i give you guys alot of respect for posting these huge opinion related responses i however will just say that they look like the wcw toybiz figs which are stupid imo and as much as jakks always drops the ball and they do look a bit cartoonish who says looking more realistic is better per se i mean they look more to scale and more detailed in way but i cant look at them and not think "eh these look dumb"

I have mixed fealings on this. The figures are way more detailed and have more variety and I will get at least HBK and Austin but for some reason the figs look weird to me. Call me crazy but I liked the jakks ones better tbh.

The poster who's excited about realistic muscle definition is the reason non-wrestling fans think we're all gay. I shudder to think how excited people around here would be if the toys had nipples and bulges in their trunks.
I've continued to think about what we've been shown, and I'm still not ready to jump on the Mattel bandwagon. 1) The headsculpts are poop 50% of the time. 2) They're only going to be making realistic body molds for so long, and then they'll just start reusing parts where they don't belong. 3) They're making so much stuff, even more than Jakks has been in the last year or two. Stores aren't going to keep stocking when half of the items don't sell. 4) The prices are high. 9.99 for basic figs doesn't sound too bad, but keep in mind that stores will be charging more than that to make a profit. Suddenly, the poopty $10 figure become $13, and 15-18, and 20-25. They're not worth that much. 5) Mattel still doesn't have their shipment issues sorted out. Like DC Universe, there's a good chance that these won't be hitting a store near you anytime soon.

I don't know what to say, but I might get the first couple of sets, and get to see them in person and I will get a Kane. But I think there boots look really big and Evan Bourne's arms look really weird in that proto.

Why is everyone complaining about the cost? Aren't the "basic" figures $9.99 suggested retail? Yeah, thats for the poor ones. But the better looking ones are 15 and 22 dollars each. That is crazy! There is no way I will or can do that. Basic line is the same as the RA line. So 9.99 for the basic is okay cause that is the same price as RA's. 14.99 is for their version on the Deluxe line, which Jakks chargers anywhere between 12.99 to 14.99. Not that big of a difference if you stop and think about it.

I shudder to think how excited people around here would be if the toys had nipples and bulges in their trunks. Who cares what people think of me, or anyone for that matter? Same reason I don't care if you "insult" me. More than 1/2 of the collectors in here like realism in their figures. So yes, small things like the correct definition are a plus. Also love how you insult me on mentioning it, yet... you do the same thing here: 2) They're only going to be making realistic body molds for so long, and then they'll just start reusing parts where they don't belong. So you obviously care enough, to mention the same issue. - Triple S

If it was an insult, I probably would have directly said something about you being gay or weird or something, rather than some off-handed generalization. But if you took offense to it, I'm sorry. And I was talking about realistic molds scale wise. It matters to me that Bourne is smaller than Kofi who is smaller than Kane, yes. But I don't think that they'll keep making unique sculpts past the first year or so. They don't do it with any of their other lines, they probably won't do it here.

well, my collection looks like it is officially done after December 31... not impressed... there are a few that might be worth getting but all of the praise that they are getting is not deserved in my opinion... but that is just my opinion and who really cares about it... i will wait to see the final product before i make a decision on purchasing any...
