I could never get past the fn' dogs that jumped out of the window in RE. But I cannot tell you how many times I have watched walkthroughs on YouTube. I always wanted to see how that game played out...

They should use Lost in Nightmares as an example of how the games should be, new style controls with the old school feel and atmosphere. Seriously Lost in Nightmares scared the poop out of me more than the entire RE 5 did....

Yeah. The atmosphere of RE5 really killed the game for me. It really just felt like I was just playing a spin-off.

I loved Resident Evil when it's literally daunting to turn a corner in fear of being eaten. Going terminator through 10 zombies in a short time is boring, stale and as said, not atmospheric, which is what the game's strong point was.

Now I've played all the main series minus 2 I feel that 5 is a really good game and definetly good enough to be part of the awesome franchise, however it's (and 4) obviously not the resident evil most of us came to love. However I feel they have been beneficial for the series;a big REboost, and making the series more popular. Many found the original way quite stale by ø. However I think things are going to really change back to the original horror, aparantly capcom said 6 would be a complete reboot.
My scariest moment of resi so far? Probably having nemesis jumping through the window.

Today I found RE: Code Veronica for the DC in my basement. I honestly have no idea where it came from, or how I acquired it

I've got 1-3 for ps1 and think they are as good as it gets, i bought 4 when it was 20 bucks a few years back and enjoyed it but it wasn't the same, much like when I bought 5. Nothing beats the first 3 games. I love them.

I miss the old style resident evil with the puzzles and such. I loved using cheats on these games, I had fun that way.

The longest game in the series. well i completed 2 ages ago now (my original post must be very old), and i have to say, it was an epic, but it was nowhere near as long as nemesis, or resi 4. i love the characters, location and the variation of 2 and it really is an amazing sequel, but i don't think its that long, unless you're counting all of the leon a b claire a b. i don't know how you can hate 4. it's an amazing game. the remake and 4 are probably my favourites. i love the nostaliga of playing the older ones, but i don't think that really makes them better games. the new revelations one for 3DS looks amazing, one of the main reasons i've ordered one.

I really wish this could come out on consoles but if it does it will be for Wii and I dont feel like doing some dancing around to enjoy, what seems to be, the best resident evil since the remake

Ah, understandable, I don't look at the dates on posts. But, the reason I don't like the newer games, is because they're just like every other shooter on the market. (although 4 was original for it's time) In the early Resident Evil games, every enemy made sense. The was a back story to each big enemy, and a story that went along with it. William Birkin, Wesker, Nemesis, Ashford Family...you'd learn about these people in notes and pictures, where you'd learn about your main character through, pretty much the opening cut scene. Resident Evil 4 threw all that out the window. The enemies were cookie cutter crap, with no real big interesting story as to why they are who they are. That big trench coat guy in 4? He was just a big trench coat guy. Leon's ex partner, the guy with the knives, it never really goes into his story or says much about him. The story and pacing was pretty crappy and annoying. Birkin was built up through (if you want to count it, 0). Wesker had great build up. From turning evil in one, to Ada's mysterious 'is she teaming with Wesker) in number 2, which Wesker came back in Code Veronica, until his character was absolutely destroyed in every possible way in 5 (same with Jill). Resident Evil 4 and 5 had no character progression at all. Why wasn't Claire with Chris as they left together in Code Veronica? Why introduce a new character without building her, when it could have easily been Claire and Chris in a game? Since when did Resident Evil turn into a game about zombies, to a game about putting bugs on people to control people. (again, you could say 0, but 0 doesn't really count to me, that's when Capcom's idea started to really suck) Resident Evil 1- Find out about Umbrella's horrible plans Resident Evil 2- See the effects on the city from a crazy outbreak Resident Evil 3- See how an older character deals with the city Resident Evil CV- Claire tries to take down Umbrella, gets caught, but meets up with her brother Chris. Resident Evil 4- Save the Presidents daughter from an evil outbreak somewhere else in the world Resident Evil 5- I don't even remember anymore.
