I actually wasn't affected by the typhoon and I can't believe I missed deadline as I thought the deadline was yesterday. This is what I get for confusing time differences. I had half an rp written, but as DC knows, I'm held up with school and maintenance on a couple sites I run, so I apologize for the no-show. The typhoon did a lot of damage to Manila. Some areas had floods as high as seven feet. The water actually reached the second floor of some houses and pretty much wrecked the place. Being ten stories up pretty much spared me from any damage, the most I got was a blackout, which is pretty common down here. Manila's pretty much on clean-up mode right now, some schools and businesses are closed for most of the week... The amount of rain that came down over the course of Saturday pretty much amounted to a little over a month's worth... That's how bad it was and to make it worse, another typhoon is headed right for us! This is a small example of how much damage that typhoon caused: That video was taken from Far Eastern University, a small college around a half hour away from my place. Quick edit: I just found out the typhoon down here was a lot stronger than Katrina. Katrina had 250mm of rainfall... Tropical Storm Ondoy had 425mm of rainfall... |
