Just look at the Tibau fight earlier in the night. The scoring is too heavily reliant on takedowns, even when nothing is done with them. If Shogun would have gotten 1 takedown each round and hopped right back up, he would have won 50-45.

I just saw the shogun/machida fight...
...and first off I don't think it was nearly as big of a BLOWOUT as I thought it was going to be...it was a very close fight...those first three rounds were damn hard to judge...everytime they would collide they would both throw combos and it was hard seeing what landed in the exchanges...
the first round was a toss up....the second i would give to lyoto...and the third I would give to shogun...
4 and 5 were all shogun though...so we should have a new champion right now...
..but I'm not mad at a rematch at all...that was one of the best fights i have ever seen...I know a lot of people won't agree with me but I loved it...

Well it was great on the premise alone that everyone though Shogun would gas out around the 3rd round.

Well it was great on the premise alone that everyone though Shogun would gas out around the 3rd round. I just thought it was awesome because everytime machida would get hit he had this look on his face like he was surprised someone actually touched him ...Goldberg even pointed it out during the third round i think... but a rematch I expect both men will be more aggressive. I don't think I have seen so many kicks thrown from two fighters during an MMA fight ever..
