You're allowed to move your feet AS you dribble, but he moved his feet while holding the ball. Travel by the letter or the NBA rulebook. Doesn't matter and again, nobody is going to acknowledge it, but it's 100% traveling. Everyone travels. Lebron and Dwight Howard dont travel less than they travel. I understand it sucks to see, but EVERYONE does it. Of course, everyone knows that. But picture that play next to Bird's steal, Magic's hook, Jordan over Ehlo... he traveled and despite the play being shoved down our throats 600 times in the last week, every single person has neglected to mention that. Just thought it was worth sharing.

LeBron travels more than any player in history except Jordan but that Rondo play was not a travel. He dribbled the ball 3 times in under 2 seconds.....

He doesn't get up and walk at all, it's the getting up part where he travels. As I said in my first post... that's legal to do (stand up) after getting a ball you did not dribble or have possession of previously. Completely legal play from start to finish according to the rule book and the referee's calling the game. In fact, you are the only person I've ever heard call it a travel. edit: it would be a double dribble to start dribbling again from that situation. Rondo got up and dribbled, he didn't take any traveling steps or double dribble. you said his knees moved too. are we talking about the same video? He never moves around on his knees.

He definitely has possession of the ball when he raises his knees off of the floor. If you didn't see it I guess I'm not even sure what to say.

Wow, what a completely pointless argument. I blame myself.

1. He doesn't establish a pivot foot
2. His first action involves a dribble
3. He never takes a step without dribbling
How can you travel or double dribble?

1. Why not just hop or drag your feet the entire way down the floor then? Not establishing a pivot foot there either. You're moving both of them (which is what Rondo did).
2. Yes he does. He stands up before he dribbles. He has possession of the ball when he does this.
3. As I already stated, moving your knee off of the floor = traveling. And he clearly did that. I don't understand how you can watch the video in slow motion and see anything else.
If you lift both knees/feet before attempting a dribble/shot/pass while you have possession of the ball, you are by the NBA rulebook traveling. I guess I don't know how much simpler I can say it.
It's probably just time for all of us to move on.

You are not relevant to the play when talking about the rules and the only person ever to try and claim it was a travel.
The guy dove and came up with a loose ball and got up into a dribble. It's completely legal, and how you are describing it is completely legal if you factor in the loose ball, possession gain and that he's above the ball taking it from the floor.
I've restated this a few times now. The announcers called it legal, the refs, the postgame, everybody for 2 weeks. Now you're claiming it's a travel. You are the only one.
Let's just agree to disagree

The whole "you're the only one with that opinion" defense is extremely lame, but we can agree to disagree.
Game one is tomorrow night... WHO YA GOT?!?

I think whoever wins the first game takes the series. Phil Jackson is undefeated after winning game 1 in the playoffs.
Artest is the x-factor, if he is able to score the Lakers will win, if not the C's take it.

LOL Scalabrine. I'd honestly probably buy that game, even though I don't have a PS3, just for that cover.
That'd be a neat concept for a game -- charge an extra $10 to allow the buyer to pick which NBA player they wanted on the cover.

Looks like Tom Thibodeau rejected the Hornets offer. Kinda glad, since Chris Paul would prefer Monty Williams. Right now the Hornets should do whatever they can to make that man happy...
