I wanted to do Brock for quite some time. I found the great UFC Brock yesterday and whipped this up. minor fix ups, removed the chest tat (wish i remembered he did not have his upper back tats when he wore this outfit, oh well) painted his teeth white, added festus' lower half and hands and tried to match the flesh tone a bit closer. Back symbol is painted not designed. I know its been done before and will be done a lot more but i wanted to share!

Nice work on the Brock and Randy Orton, The skintone is great, I think Brock did have the upper tattoos near the end of his career in Wwe. Keep up the good work

He defenitely had the meat hooks at the end of his run, I remember a t shirt they put out with that particular tattoo on the back of it.

Good to know about the upper tats, although did he have them when he wore the coccyx on the back of his trunks? i was watching Summerslam 02 as a reference for his trunks I did know he changed the symbol at the end of his run but not sure if he still broke out the coccyx trunks now and them

While I never ever liked Brock you did a great job on him...but the one I really like is the orton. The shaved head looks amazing on him.

Everything is perfect with the exception of the fact he has a mouthguard in for his wrestling era. Its not accurate but thats not ur fault...

Thanks guys, I agree about the mouthgard but I did paint it white to make them look like teeth, it helps quite a bit actually.

DO YOU SELL? I really want the DA WWE Brock, DA purple Christian, and the Orton head.... please respond... but I only want reasonable prices... Brock: 20 max, but less is good Christian: 25 max but less is good Orton head: under 10... obviously but this should maybe even be under 5... we could negotiate prices...

Thanks guys. I am always humbled by the interest I get from posting these and always hope they can inspire. Like i've said before, the reason why take absolutely no commissions or do not sell any of my customs is simply broken down to factors of time. I don't have a lot of free time, and any free time I take to do freelance work it is related to my profession, therefore if I put six hours into something out of the very limited time I have, maybe on the odd weekend and I charge over 50 dollars an hour for that it wouldn't make sense to take 5 dollars for the 4 or so hours it takes to shave down and paint Randy's head. It doesn't even quite make it worth the trip to the post office to mail it.
But collectors do not see it that way, because they see it in the value of a toy (which is totally understandable because afteral, it is!) So therefore if a figure costs 16 dollars, the head alone should only cost 5, which does make a lot of sense logic wise but reality wise it does not make sense for a customizer to spend hours creating it, and then time and money packing and shipping it when they could find the same amount of money under the sofa. This is why a lot of customizers don't justify selling their work, its a lot of time put into a simple toy, at the end of the day, personally speaking I wouldn't feel right about asking/taking a lot of money for something like that. Its different doing t for my own collection but as soon as it becomes a job I have to treat it as such.
I have had a couple guys contact me and tell me that they would pay whatever I asked for some work, I've only accepted one offer, I did it and it turned out fine, he was happy. So I may do it again but like i said, something just makes me feel guilty asking much over the value of a toy, which in actuality SHOULD be around the 20 dollar mark.
This is why I always encourage people to aspire to create their own cutoms and am happy to offer any advice I can.

You are, as always, the man Ray. The things you do "fixing up" a figure make many of our "full-on" customs look like child's play. There is no substitution for a keen eye and natural talent. The Brock would have been a huge CSDA figure if Jakks could have made it. Christian and Orton are so much better than the original Jakks releases. You make things look so clean and realistic. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks so much guys! I use only acrylic based tamiya paints, flat colors, sometimes model masters but i prefer tamiya. For Randy's hair i used a veeeeeeery watered down tamiya flat brown. I built up the layers of brown using light washes by dabbing it subtly with a tiny brush until i had the desired look.
