I think it has something to do with Sean Waltman owning the rights to the character and not wanting to sell the rights or make a deal with Mattel/WWE. I might be wrong though. Maybe MattelDesignTeam will have a definite answer? |

Could somebody please post a photo of Rowdy Roddy Piper from his 80's WWE(F) run in wrestling gear (after he took the t-shirt & kilt off) that is NOT his classic blue trunks and blue knee-pads if there is one? Always remember that his LJN figure had red trunks and red knee-pads.

Super awesome. Thanks badguy! I'm perplexed as to if he ever did wear red like his LJN figure. I recall his Hasbro having red knee-pads as well.I wonder if all his figures up to Mattel were inaccurate?
Kind of off topic, but that match reminded me of when Dr. D David Schultz attacked a television reporter over wrestling being fake. Anyone else here "old" enough like me to remember that?

Back in the late 80's/early 90's (I want to say 80's though) there was a paper back book about Roddy that have that I am pretty sure had pics of him in red in it. I am just not sure where my copy is right now. I am pretty sure it was early in his WWF career (when he was wearing the panther print Tshirt) that he wore red trunks in the wwf. This is the magazine though.  Also wwe Network Piper vs Putski 6/12/84 Piper is wearing plain red trunks and knee pads. |
