Yeah, for sure. However, I don't even give Dan Hardy a "Matt Serra chance" in this fight. He's got ZERO chance of beating GSP. It's just not possible in my opinion seeing how good GSP is at this point. He's literally the "Anderson Silva" of the Welterweight division and some new upstart like Dan Hardy doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating someone that good because he hasn't been tested to that degree yet. He hasn't been in the wars GSP has. He hasn't fought the quality of guys GSP has defeated. Dan Hardy said that Mike Swick was in over his head last night during the pre-fight smacktalk. Well, he's in WAY over his head going into the GSP fight. He has no idea what he's in for and the pressure and pace GSP will put his way. Dan Hardy should've fought some quality guys like Koscheck, Fitch, Alves and Matt Hughes before getting a shot at GSP. If he got by those guys, then my opinion would be different. But he hasn't and it will be nothing more than a complete fluke if he defeated GSP.I believe GSP will completely outclass and embarass Dan Hardy in this fight and it will be over in the 1st round. So what if....(and this is a big what if...completely hypothetical)...what if this is the beginning of a new era for the WW division and Dan Hardy completely murders GSP. Are you then going to become a Dan Hardy fan and try to completely forget about how you said he didn't have a "matt serra's chance of winning" ? Regardless what you say, in my opinion, there is no "what if" for Dan Hardy, so it doesn't even matter. He will not murder GSP man. The mear thought of that is friggin' hilarious. He will get completely outclassed and embarrassed by GSP and then you'll come back on here and say, "Damn, Old School was right". And I'll be there saying "I told ya so". Hardy isn't even in GSP's league and GSP will prove it. He hasn't fought the calibre of guys GSP has beaten, so he's getting a very lucky break to even step in there with GSP this early in his career. I mean, seriously dude. A quality fighter like Thiago Alves thought he was going to knock GSP out and he got  ing owned for 5 full rounds. And look at the size Alves was at that point. Did you see how many takedowns GSP got on him that night? He took him down at will. I believe if GSP was able to do that to someone the size of Alves, he will do it even worse to someone much, much smaller like Dan Hardy. I already said there was no "if" with Dan Hardy, but even so, IF Dan Hardy does get a fluke victory over GSP, I will not be a fan of him. He's a cocky idiot with a stupid Red Rooster-lookin' haircut. GSP will dominate once again and he'll send "The Outlaw" packing back to jolly old England. |

Total side note, I always laugh at how many fans brag about how they have watched UFC since the beginning. If that were the case, the UFC would have NEVER been in financial trouble and would have been a huge success since the start. Ah well...
I'm one of the biggest GSP fans out there, but I'm really hoping he doesnt take Hardy lightly. I think the hardest part of the fight is going to be GSP motivating himself to train against someone of Hardy's stature. He is absolutely no where near anyone of GSP's previous opponents in the skill department, so here's hoping GSP doesnt try something dumb and get caught. Saying that really anyone in the UFC has NO CHANCE of beating someone is intellectually- disabled. GSP should absolutely dominate Hardy, but still there is always a chance at an upset. Gotta love MMA.

You are a complete idiot talking about "old school wrestling story line" because I've been watching UFC and PRIDE since UFC 13 back years ago. I watched how Brandon Vera didn't bad mouth Couture like many guys would to ramp up the fight and I never was a big fan of Vera and it was cool to see that he jumped right back in after fighting not that long ago and because he got Couture he immediately jumped back into grueling training. Are you actually making the argument that you do not fall for pro wrestling storylines while clearly stating that Brandon Vera's pre-fight interviews and personality determined whether or not you were a fan of his going into this fight? Second, looking back on the fight and watching it again after I recorded it, yes I do think I was kind of one sided in the moment watching the fight and in all circumstances, Vera just didn't do enough to take the fight because Randy controlled the grappling game and put Vera where he wanted him. But for you to come here and pick everything I say apart shows how big of a dickk you are and it isn't necessary. So I'm a dick because I, as you just admitted, made a rock solid, correct argument with some personal jabs thrown in, whereas you are in the clear for now making a response that is just as long as mine that makes no argument pertaining to the fight and is only a personal attack on me? So in that sense, wouldn't that mean that the only thing that makes me a dick is the fact that I proved you wrong? Hrm. As much as I dislike Hardy, I won't count him out. I know GSP has his head on straight & should eat him alive, but every time I think about GSP murdering someone, the Matt Serra KO pops back into my head.

Yeah this is the thing with GSP, despite how great he is, he'll always be remembered for how fragile he looked in that fight because Serra has never been thought of as a KO striker. Also since then GSP has certainly had a more wrestling focused attack. In fairness it has allowed him to dominate other top guys & I'd expect a similar thing here. Constant takedowns, great control on the mat & brutal GNP leaving Hardy battered & bruised at the end of a decision. Hardy has the power to win but unlikely. Just like it was unlikely that Serra would beat GSP, that Gonzaga would beat Crocop etc. |

every time I think about GSP murdering someone, the Matt Serra KO pops back into my head. Yeah, but how long ago was that?? That was back on April 7th, 2007 at UFC #69. That's how long ago that was and GSP hasn't lost since. GSP said that loss was the best thing that happened to him and I've gotta agree. I believe he said he switched training camps after that loss and it certainly paid dividens for his career. You go back and watch GSP from the time he lost to Serra, all the way up to now and tell me he hasn't improved since then. He's like a total different fighter since that loss and improved greatly to being the top 2 or 3 fighters in the world. Bottom line, that Serra loss was so long ago and GSP has improved so much since then, I just don't believe something like that will happen to him again. If so, then why weren't world-class fighters like B.J. Penn or Matt Hughes able to do it? I don't care what you guys say. Dan Hardy has zero chance of beating GSP. He's gotta prove to me that he deserve to step in there with someone as good as he is and he hasn't done that yet. Not even close. He's gotta go through some top tier guys first, in my opinion. Then, we'll see. |
