Read up on Andre. His attitude and actions towards guys he didn't like is legendary. If Andre decided he didn't like someone, he punished them in the ring. There is a match from Japan (I forget the opponent) where Andre was upset with the booking. He no-sold for several minutes and challenged his opponent to shoot on him. The guy did, laying in hard roundhouse kicks. Andre only laughed at him. When Antonio Inoki came down to ringside and admonished Andre (trying to do so discreetly), he layed down in the center of the ring, looked at his opponent, and said, "Pin me!" Yeah, Andre may have worked well with certain guys, but bottomline...Andre did whatever the f*ck he wanted. If he didn't want to job, he wasn't going to job. If he didn't like how a match was going, he'd change it. Hell, even Hogan was nervous about his WM III bout with Andre because is if Andre didn't want to job, he wasn't. It was Akira Maeda. He basically kicked Andre's leg until it was blue. He tried to no-sell it but it had to be killing him as you could see him limping after the kicks.

I don't get this thread.
It seems no matter what we say about Big Show being better than Andre it doesn't mater because Andre was a better giant cause he got over because he was big and slow like a giant should be.
Seems a irrelvent question then as their overness from purely size has nothing to do with either one of them but the fans of the time.
To answer the question I'd say Big Show. He'd get more over in Andre's position than Andre could get in Shows.

[Kayfabe=WCW] You cant compare a father to his son! [/Kayfabe]
I would say the Big Show as hes a better wrestler, but Andre was the best of his time and without him I doubt Big show would of been as much of as a succees he is now.

Roundhouse kicks, especially from well trained practioners, break bones and end fights. Maeda looked more than a bit confused about what to do. Inoki was hacked off when he came to ringside. Do you know what caused all that? I only saw the match, never learned the backstory.

That is not Show's fault it is just the nature of today. Andre was a huge star then because most people had never seen some one so big before and he was used correctly. He was always dominate and booked well. Show is not only smaller that Andre and is not a giant (he does not have giants disease) he is wrestling in a time when there are numerous atheletes his size (maybe not weight). Also WWE has booked him wrong from day one. WCW did a good job but in his WWE debut match he lost clean to Austin. Most fans don't take him as serious as Andre was. I mean Andre hardly ever lost to anyone so when he did to Hogan it was a huge deal. We see Show lose on almost a weekly basis I bet and he is over used as well. Andre was not on TV 1-2 times a week so he always seemed fresh. Andre could go in his early days but he could never do the things Show has done. In WCW as Giant he did a drop kick off the top rope and if in the ring with the right person can have a good match. Andre was not a very good worker in all reality especially in his later days. But Andre more than made up for that with his aura and size. I think they are both great in different ways and are both true legends IMO. Show has been used very poorly by WWE while Andre was used great. To me they are two of the three best big men ever in wrestling along with Undertaker. I wanna be in your sig!

I appreciate Big Show much more than I appreciate Andre the Giant. Big Show is a professional and is very respectful and way better at interacting with the fans.

Big Show is more athletic (especially in his younger days) then Andre is (especially in his younger days) however Andre was more of an attraction because at the time it was so rare to see someone that big. Its like comparing Flair and Hogan. Flair was a better wrestler but Hogan was a better entertainer. The same goes with Show and Andre. Ive heard back in his early WCW days that Show perfected a top rope moonsault in the Power Plant but WCW officials didnt want him doing it because of his size and risk of injury. Ive seen Show do kip ups and some amazing things in the ring that Andre just couldnt physically pull off. I agree with this assessment.

Andre was pretty limited but he was the original giant. I remember as a kid being freaked out when heel Andre would make his way to the ring.
