Ok, We are a little bit behind in Australia and unless you catch them when and if they are on FuelTV, you have to wait for the DVD, but i have just finished watching Ultimate Fighter Season 8 and i have to say i really enjoyed that season.
Some of the seasons i dont enjoy so much but this season was entertaining had some really good fights and the house aspect was really good.
Before this i think that series 1 was the standout by far, so what is everyones favourite series. Just to note i havent seen any of Season 9 and only some of Season 10.

Season 1 by a mile. All the guys on season 1 didn't join it to get their 15 minutes of fame. They all did it to get a UFC contract.
I think that's what's wrong with today's TUF casts. They seem content on just getting on television. The first cast were all hungry, not knowing if any fame were going to come from it.

There's been some good fighters since season 1, but it hasn't really been the same. There's a reason why so many guys from that season are mostly all still going strong in the company this many years later.

I have to say Season 3 had the best feud between the coaches and the most entertaining fights IMO. That finale between Ed Herman and Kendall Grove remains one of my favorite finale fights ever.
I thought season 1 was good too though...one thing I wish they did nowadays on TUF that they used to do are the challenges. They kind of made things exciting to watch and not as mundane as todays episodes are. Todays TUF episodes are always the same.
Recap of the last show The next fight is announced Every person in the house predicts Fighter A to win Fighter A and Fighter B weigh-In Everyone is surprised when Fighter B wins.

Definately TUF 9. I've got it on DVD and I can't stop watching it...
Plus it has the Sanchez/Guida fight on it.

-- The season with Tito/Ken (entertaining stuff), and the season with Rampage/Forrest (I knew a guy who made the final 16, but lost his first fight on the show).

The Pulver/ Bj Penn season is like the only one that I haven't seen. I think I saw a total of one full episode from that season.

Ok, too add another question. What is everyones thought of the weight classes for the shows. Does everyone like have two weight classes in every seasons or just one weight class?
I personally am a fan of having two weight classes in every season.

two weight classes for sure...
because I think every weight class offers a completely different kind of fight..
HW- Either a quick KO or 2 full rounds of the fighters laying against each others completely gassed.
LHW- Usually the one weight class with the most fighters who have KO power. The most exciting division. Hardly any LHW fights go to the ground.
MW- I would say this is the jiu-jitsu weight class.
WW- The wrestling weight class.
LW- The second most exciting weight class. You probably won't see a KO but you will see 2 fighters go blow for blow from the start of the fight until the very end.
I'm excited to see who they have coach next. I would love to see GSP finally do it but he hardly fights as it is..I don't want him to be tied up for another 6 months..

Season 3 was my favorite, the Tito and Shamrock feud was one of the few coaches feuds that worked (on scale with the Hughes/Serra) and the fighters were decent. Not the most talented group but as season 9 and 10 showed not the worst. Tito also showed some interesting coaching and training tips.
My second favorite was season 8, just because I like both Big Nog and Mir. Outside of their coaching Junie made the season look stupid.

Season 2 was always my favorite. Think of what came out of that season;
01. A*shole Matt Hughes. Perhaps the greatest heel turn in the history of MMA took place in Season 2 as Matt Hughes, then king of the Welterweight Division and all-around well-respected guy, suddenly morphed into an arrogant prick. Countless hours of quality a*shole Matt Hughes stuff.
02. Great Fighters I don't think many people will deny that probably the best fighters to come out of TUF came out of Season 1 or Season 2. Season 2 comprised of fighters such as Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine, Seth Petruzelli, Brad Imes, Joe Stevenson, Melvin Guillard, Josh Burkman, Marcus Davis, and Jorge Gurgel. Even with that, fighters like Luke Cuomo (sp?), Sam Morgan, and Jason Von Flue while not the highest calibur fighters since, provided great fights during the course of the season which brings me to..
03. Some of the best TUF Fights BY FAR Guillard/Burkman, Gurgel/Von Flue, Evans/Jardine and Stevenson/Cuomo are among the best fights in TUF history. And with the exception of Rashad's first two fights, I don't recall any of the other ones being bad either.
04. Good Storylines The interactions between the fighters and coaches was really great in season two. Gurgel's feuds with Hughes and Von Flue, Evans' feud with Hughes culminating in Hughes cornering Rashad during the Jardine fight, just a lot of great stuff that year. And finally...
05. The Shameless Xcience Plug Per Week Every week there was the obligatory, shameless Xcience plug. Absolutely over the top and ridiculous. Fantastic stuff.
For those reasons, TUF 2 remains my favorite season of the series.

didn't Gurgel have a feud with Stevenson as well?
I always wanted to see that fight...
..I think Gurgel was a great fighter before his many losses in the UFC..I think those losses hurt his soul..
