The Triple Crown Championship was established in 1980 when Pedro Morales defeated Ken Patera at Madison Square Garden to capture the Intercontinental Championship. It would be 12 years later when Morales received company in the Triple Crown club when Bret "The Hitman" Hart would complete the feat by defeating Ric Flair for the WWF Championship.
Since Pedro Morales and Bret Hart formed the Triple Crown Club, 19 other have become members:
Diesel (94) HBK (96) Stone Cold (98) The Rock (99) Triple H (01) Kane (01) Y2J (01) Angle (02) Guerrero (04) Benoit (04) Flair (05) Edge (06) RVD (06) Booker T (06) Randy Orton (06) Jeff Hardy (08) CM Punk (09) JBL (09) Mysterio (09)
What are your thoughts on the Triple Crown Championship? Who belongs, who does not, and who is next to join.

I personally believe that the triple crown should be the WWE Title, IC title and World Tag Titles. For the Grand Slam just add the European title. Let the WHC, US title and WWE Tag titles represent something on their own and if you hold all 6 then let it be the Ultimate Crown

I prefer the Triple Crown in Japan, but in regards to the 'WWE's' Triple Crown, it really depends on what avenue they take with whatever 'Superstars' do with the belt they hold.
The nature of the European title started out well, same with the Hardcore title, but they later resembled 'gimmick titles', thus the prestige that should have come with them did not.

I honestly dont like Grand Slam Champion terms as the European, Hardcore, Light Heavyweight, Cruiserweight titles were all very recent and limited as to who can hold them. Sadly though since one of the biggest stars was a Grand Slam Champion it will shoved down our throats until the end of time. To me the Ultimate Champion is Bret Hart. He's held the WWEs 3 top titles (World, IC, Tag) as well as WCW (World, US, Tag)
Also the triple crown in Japan probably has more credibility behind it but in the states it wouldnt really hold up. I think in 2001 if WWE was smart and had the WWE Champion fight the ECW and WCW champ and then just have the champ carry around those 3 titles and call it the triple crown that a lot of credibility would be brought into the linage
