i took over a year off from this board from sept.08 to oct.09 just to see how everything would be ,honestly i had other intrest and i think it was best for everyone includng myself coming back i have seen that things havnt changed with many people is it just me , or do i see tons of people on this board thinking they are customizing gods and giving advice when they absolutly have no idea what the hell they are talking about? people who have never made a custom saying "4/5","awesome""best customs evers" people who couldnt grip a paint brush with their  in grubby fingers and paint a straight line if they were forced to.i have to skip through pages of comments to even find someone that i have seen a custom from let alone someone i respect. on the front page there are only like 4 people who have been here for atleast a year or 2 or have made several ok customs,this is including fulgore wich shouldnt be in the same catagory as the other 3 also this customizing board has gone to sh*t. everyone posts sh*t on here that dosnt belong like simple fix ups and minor modifications , i remember when we had a fix up board on here years ago . i seriously think we need to have it back on here so we can separte customizers from chumps who do fixups. they are hoggin up the space with their sloppy sh*t fix ups and stupid part switches,they neeed to be a little more umph to them or atleast tell us what they did. most of theese part switches i have no idea what they did considering i havnt bought a figure in like 2 years.atleast tell us what you did and why you did it. thats just my thoughts its not aimed at anyone in particular ,this will probally get deleted from cmfunstopper or some sh*t like that oh well |

Ill go ahead and tell ya, i dont post here often but I do frequent the place and look at everyones work. If you got rid of the "crap" customizers or the people that try their best to give advice then you're gonna be stuck with about 7 people and this board will die a quicker death then a Sims board. 90% of the people do great work at what they do. It might be simple stuff, it might be complete recreations and it might be beginners work. I think the ONLY problem the board really has is A) too many people bitching because THEY think THEY are God, and B) A lot of people dont exactly know where to post stuff. Ive got a few things I consider fix ups that I could post but a lot of people would consider them customs but I dont bother cause I know a lot of people here will just bitch at either board I put them in and say "OMGZ, DIS IZ DA WRONGZ BOARDZ"

I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD STOP DOING CUSTOMS UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 5+ YEARS AND HAVE MADE 12 CUSTOMS APPROVED BY DR ANGUS/MR ANGUS/BOB ROSS KID/NOBLE INDIAN CHEIF/IM 1/43 NATIVE AMERICAN LOL/BARRY WHITE

I don't post here anymore simply because many people here can just be dicks to be honest, or atleast thats the way it was a while ago... But, I do remember someone making this exact post a year or so ago...
How are people who do fix-ups chumps? I love fix-ups... I do agree this board is for customizers, but there's simply no reason for name calling.

According to Jack, fixups are customs and are allowed to have their own threads on this board. That was his ruling. There was a huge debate over it. |

I actually stopped posting most of my work due to all of the stuff that goes on here. It used to be alot better. But its ok IMO. Im not too concerned with it anymore... If it dies it dies I dont make customs to have a great custom community. I make them for the competitions and because I love customizing...

I find this thread riddled with irony. You are attacking people for having strong opinions that you think are not that talented. There are plenty of people who think that of you and here you are, having strong opinions. Let's not oversell your triumphant return to the customs board. You are a pretty good customizer but if this is some attempt at an arrogant heel turn, forget it. I am not trying to start a war with you here. I'd actually like to see more customs from you. This thread just comes off way too cocky for me.
I think everyone that tries to customize should be welcome to post their customs, but they should also be subject to real criticism. I think there is far too much "That looks great" and "Totally Awesome" spamming going on here, but I think well thought out criticism even if it's from someone who never even considered picking up a paint brush should be welcome. If we all waited for the elite customizers to comment on every custom each thread would get like 5 replies. It does not take an artist to know if a figure looks good or bad. Hell plenty of people here who think they are artists make bad figures regularly.

CMD made that rule WAY back when but he later approved the competitions as long as he had no part in orginization of them. But the rule was never edited... Ive gotten permission many times to run a comp from him and ask for it every time plus who do you think stickys the threads? CMD allows them... Just like he allows crappy fixups and diva customs in the boards on a dail basis...  |
