If your going to tattoo a animal PLEASE don't do it on a live one. That's just ed up. Def, I'm glad you and Mck agree. When I was in Austin I knew a guy named... ughh, "Tattoo Johnny" - who had a chihuahua, and tattooed it's stomach. The dumbass took it to the vet the next day for a checkup, and the dog was taken from him, and he got his idiot self arrested. Pets, smaller ones anyway - are defenseless and trust their owners. It's not cool to subject them to pain, no matter the circumstance, especially for you to practice tattooing. People have a lot of skin on their own bodies. Use your own real estate, not another creatures. Unfortunately, a few people still practice tattooing pigs - hell, one magazine recently suggested it to a person who wrote in. A lot of people use one leg as practice space - if you have to practice and want to know what the closest is you can get to tattooing a human, use yourself.

I think tattooing a dead animal is even ed up. I just hate animal cruelty. I have 2 dogs who I love to death and can't even imagine hurting one of them.

Going through some old sketch books. Yes, the face is supposed to be a bit lop-sided.

I've got three dogs, and almost had a fourth. Over the summer I was dog sitting for my neighbors who had a pit bull pup, one of my bestfriends was going to adopt him, but a few weeks later he had to move into a new place an couldn't... before I decided I'd take him (since I had gotten so attached), my neighbors had already given him to a member of their church. Broke my little heart. If I don't come up with anything to get on my upper left arm, I might get a portrait of him from this pic I took:
